Watch the numbers vs Vandy ...
He’ll likely get triple TX numbers as he won’t be held as much as they held him at Texas ...

I don't think it matters how much he plays, he seems like the type of kid that will declare 3rd year no matter what.

based on what?

Unless he knocks it out of the park as the season goes along, he should be coming back - limited snaps, limited stats, and limited film at this point.

Keys only went 3rd round and he had limited games as well but had 20 sacks, 24 tfl, 128 tk, 58 solo, 71ast, 4 pd, 2 fr, and 3 ff.

I think Chaisson played solid his freshman year, but until he actually can stay on the field and play elite... he should come back. Plays solid but not elite at this point.

He has to actually perform on the field to demonstrate he is worthy of a higher draft pick. His body of work is negligible thus far.

That's not a knock on him because he certainly has the speed, athleticism and frame. He needs a breakout year to have an opportunity to make serious coin.

Well he’s getting targeted by opposing OL

He’s getting held unbelievably (Texas game 16 holds), Often (GS, NW ... easily 5 blatant holds each of these games)

He’s getting chop blocked too ... His injury!
That play was called a penalty

They targeting him ... We gotta have the DL starters back to have him effective ... Period

Just hoping he gets thru Vandy with no injury

What a horrible thing to say about someone who missed the entire season last year and busted his fricking arse to get back on the field and play for the tigers, only to be hampered with another unfortunate injury. Gfy dude

You’re no expert...I wasn’t asking for other people’s opinons. I was explaining the problem and the reasons why he should not sit out the remainder of the season. I know how players are evaluated and what is needed from college film.

one on one it's still not a good look...nfl tackles are better and bigger than the Texas tackle. We have only really seen him play 2 good teams in his college career.

Sam Cosmi is an NFL tackle.

Thoughts? Sure would be nice to have him back next year.

ETA: We definitely seem 50/50 on this - I think he should/will stay.

Anyone know why he. Lawrence and the other guy didnt play? Missed curfew? Missed class?

There was enough film on him from 1 game last year to projecting him as a All American candidate for this year. He will play at least a half vs Vandy.

Key's problem was having 16 sacks as a sophmore and then going crazy

just for your information and fwiw, when you post a post it is implicitly implied and expected that the post, whether you specifically ask or not, is open to others opinions and if only so called experts posted and expressed their opinions on various subjects on this board then this forum wouldn't exist as there would barely be any posts ever posted

Let’s not forget the Saints gave up 2 first round picks to draft a pass rusher that was a project.

If you are talking about Marcus Davenport, he had lots of playing time, just at a lower level... lots of stats and lots of film... the knock was smaller school, weaker competition.

185 tackles
21.5 sacks
37.5 tackles for loss
8 pd
2 fr
6 ff
1 td

Its not that Chaisson is bad, it just that he has only really played one year and it was just a very solid year for a freshman. I just haven't seen anything that screams elite at this point for a pass rusher, he has a hard time beating single blocker, and very little chance of beating double teams at this point... if he has a clear lane than he has the speed to get to the QB.

Arden Keys was hard for anyone to handle, and it was hard to know exactly why... he was just able to get to the QB on a constant basis.

Needs playing time.

He didn't get dominated. He was constantly held, and he still had 5 tackles, 5 hurries, and a sack. Plus, Cosmi is really good.

We live in such an extreme society. To voice opinions people often exaggerate their point of view. As in most debates, the truth is typically somewhere in the middle. He wasn’t dominated and he wasn’t held constantly. The truth is he was out played at times and held some too. For all the noise he talked I would say his performance was disappointing. Yet, in the overall scheme of things he had a okay game; nothing terrible and nothing spectacular.
