No...it isn't. Winning without them this weekend is going to make a huge statement as to how talented this team really is.

Since you claim there is a sampling of peoples (and I assume this is just a sampling of athletes at major college programs like LSU and Stanford (as noted by your name). Would you please provide us this detail information of what exactly happens at those places. Reggie Bush, by the way, was a kid that made a "mistake." What do many of those $C fans that idolized him in the 2004 and 2005 think of him now?
Surely you are not stupid enough to think that this euphemism, which has been around for God knows how long, was created for this situation?

Nope, everybody makes some kind of mistake, but not everybody makes a mistake big enough to get suspended from a NCAA football team, for which the rules are VERY lenient. Their teammates twitter messages don't help. Makes me wonder how any of these guys can watch the Shady's fallout, and now this, yet still don't get the picture.

Not that many people play for a major NCAA football team...

Apparently, a few players have tweeted about "real fans" should have their team's players backs. To me, this implies that the player's don't care anything about team rules, anything about NCAA rules, or anything about state and federal laws. Their teammates can break any law they want, but it's all good. Haters just gon' hate! No lessons being learned at all.

Surely you must realize that if you use such euphemisms as your proof to support your statements in a college research paper, you would get a failing grade.
Of course, you're a part of the dem party that sure used the "mistakes" of George W. Bush's youth in attacking him when he ran for President almost 4 decades later.

Yes!!!

This team, more than any in the country, has seen what happens when you get into "off the field" trouble. Yet, when this repeatedly happens (Shady's, Shep w/ the NCAA, and now this alleged multiple drug test failing) the response from teammates twitter is that all fans should ignore the continued breaking of rules and just show love for the players regardless of how many rules are broken. That definitely gives me the impression that some of these star athletes feel that regardless of their actions, coach will still play me, mom will still defend me, and everyone else can just deal with it.

Exactly.

When I was in Tiger Band, if you were late for practice (without a pre-approved excuse), even 1 minute, you did not march that weekend.

I marched every pre-game and halftime show for the 4 plus years I was in GBFTL. I did know people who were late - ONCE. They learned.

explains a lot

For someone who played college ball like you claimed you sure don't know much about teamwork and being a player.

would you rather them not stand up for their team mates? i have no problem with team mates defending others on the team, regardless of what they did. that's called unity, something else necessary to be a good team. they're all friends. would you support your friends if something similar happened? i'd surely hope so

So you don't think university rules should be applied evenly? Hell, Tiger Band members get kicked out of the university if they bring harm to the image of the university. These players are just getting a one game suspension.

Get over your fricking self. It's assholes like you that whine for others to bail them out.

If I had a friend/team mate that broke a law and/or team rules, I would be disappointed, sad for him, sad that our team has to play without them, and I would encourage and help my friend to stay in compliance with team rules.

I would not encourage my team mate to keep breaking said rules, and I would not criticize anyone that is also disappointed in my team mate/friends actions.

How is breaking the law and team rules, when the team is ranked #1, a great form of "teamwork" and "being a player"? If the rumor are correct, that this was the second test they failed, then what do you say?
That's not fair to those that busts their asses off at practice, show up on time, don't do anything to hurt the image of the university and make good grades. There are players that aren't bad boys. Maybe it's because they realize the honor and responsibilty that comes with wearing the Purple and Gold so those players act like young men, not kids.

they didn't do this either, they told people to basically stand behind them, not against them. don't see anything wrong with that at all either
