Maybe casual basketball fans don’t realize that seeing and hearing a large crowd really helps the players to elevate their game? They feed off it. It energizes them.

Many players have told me this over the years.

Due to the “intimacy” of a basketball arena, players are very aware of the presence (or absence) of the crowd. There’s a reason why in basketball, the spectators are called the “Twelfth Man”. YOU, the fan can help the team win!

I recently had a conversation with an assistant coach’s wife, and she brought this subject up. Saying how disappointed the coaches and players feel that their fantastic season last year hasn’t carried over to big crowds this year. It hurts them, - really. They feel they’ve earned the support. Surely they have?

IMO, winning the SEC Championship (beating Kentucky at Rupp on the way) and getting to the Sweet Sixteen, should be good enough for more “casual” basketball fans to become ”loyal” basketball fans this season. This team should get some respect.

Obviously casual fans are very demanding.

C’mom Baton Rouge, it’ll only take a few thousand more of you

You mean the “Sixth Man”??? Twelfth Man doesn’t even make sense for basketball plus that is A&M’s trademark anyway.

No, the gymnastics team fills the PMAC!

You laugh but I was about to post this, LSU gymnastics averages over 12K per event. There is such a thing called Title 9 that LSU has to follow as it is Federal Law.
