Should LSU release some type of statement at this point?

The entire program is getting shite on right now. Should LSU get the player's side out there? Is there any way to save face? This shite sucks for everyone involved.

I'm sure it will all blow over soon enough. The only reason its getting this much attention is because of the upcoming game.

I think they should have released info, or at least have Fisher release the video of the guy in the bar before hand, if it helps their case. Anything to start turning the public relations tide.
LSU has let the other side of the story sit out there for so long it has been assumed as truth by the local and national media.
I don't see any benefit to not fighting this with their own story - especially if they have other witnesses.

They are doing what any savvy organization advised by competent PR professionals would do in the circumstances.
If they say something positive then the police investigation goes negative, and/or the positive info turns out to be wrong, the shite will go from bad to worse because a cover up will be assumed.
If their statement is unduly negative they contribute to pressure on the police and the prosecution to take a Nader line than they otherwise would.
This is what it looks and feels like when there is misconduct alleged against some of your people. It sucks in the short run but you have to let the process play out.

Don't count on that

The smart thing for LSU to do is to sit tight till they charge someone with something. When that happens, dismiss them from the team.
