troy and georgia tech are apples and oranges.

here's a question for you that tojo wouldn't answer:

Would you question miles coaching if jordan jefferson started all year?

Lee won't start because good half and bad half are both better than a half where you just threw a pick 6.

+1

I'll take a smart QB that makes plays with his head first and foremost, and not just his arm and feet over a "stronger armed QB" fwiw

So I am supposed to believe GT brought a defense into that game that was on par with un upper level SEC defense?

Not because Ga Tech was stout, but because LSU was so bad

Ppl thought LSU was going to lose bc of the success GT had had with the triple option, and LSU's lack of discipline all year on D.

Revisionist history. 90% of the people on here, including me, thought that GT was going to put a big whipping on us, we were all wrong. We saw what the players would do when motivated and inspired by good QB play, and the defense doing their part when not having to dig themselves out of a pick 6 hole.

And the amazing game that LSU played in the Peach Bowl had nothing to do with the fact that they had a month to prepare and that Les Miles' teams have convincingly won EVERY bowl game that they've played in? (they've outscored opponents 157-44 in Miles' four bowl games). Were the previous three blowouts also due to the motivation that was inspired by good QB play?

Your comment was just as much revisionist history as the previous...

hardly.

LSU was supposed to get it handed to them in the chick fil a bowl.

they were a 7 point underdog.

OK, so maybe revisionist history isn't the correct term. My point is that you can't necessarily attribute the win to good QB play. LSU has played four great bowl games under Miles. It isn't just the QB.

true, but go back and look at the game again.

if jarrett lee had started that game (and he very well could have, considering he was healthy and ready to go) he would have done horribly.

jefferson escaped multiple blitzes, while either rolling and and running, or throwing a good pass.

many JL nutsuckers try to change what happened in that game or downplay it.

it was a big game with all things considered really.

Come on. I'm not saying that with JL at the helm that LSU would have won big (or even won at all), but I don't think you can say that he would have sucked either. The game changes with different QBs in there. Play calls would have been different, defenses would have been different, etc. To say that JL would have necessarily sucked in the game is naive. With a month to prepare for the game, JL could have done great. He didn't play, so we don't know what he would've done.

Having said that, JJ played a great game and deserves the credit he gets for it. That doesn't mean, however, that he is the better QB or should get the starting job is JL proves himself to be better this offseason.
