sure it does...you can't lead if you're not setting an example on and off the field. I played with a guy years ago who tried to be a vocal leader without the work ethic...we called him God Jr and laughed at him behind his back.

Oh, bad work ethics hurt teams....but only sometimes.

Compare Kobe to Iverson.

hell brett favre basically did everything to avoid training camp last year and players on the vikes were doing anything they could to insure he was coming back (last year)

And how'd that work out for em?

Your continued obsession over Keiland and your numerous posts in the Hester vs Keiland debates is the obvious situation I'm talking about.

can you explain why he didn't get more carries, namely in 2007 and 2009 (he wasn't that good in 2008 and scott was beast mode)?

hell the biggest example of les being too loyal to hester doesn't even involve keiland (UK in 2007)

as I said...back in the old days. Obviously allowing Favre to play the past couple of years was a big mistake.

yeah last year he sucked. it wasn't due to preparation. his body gave out on him. it happens

same seemed to have happened to moss last year

when you get by on talent, once you lose that talent, you're screwed. you don't see those guys grinding out good years late in their career (as opposed to a jerry rice)

Usually but there are definitely exceptions too, which apparently some people don't believe.

and again, let me state this again

we're talking about guys who have/had HORRIBLE work ethics, which is NOT what was being said in this thread (at least by me)

Yea but he was talking about last year. And do you not remember that even during their NFC championship season things came out about a split locker room. Especailly when he was with the Jets.

They were split over the head coach not the QB.

are those exceptions worth the risk? when has the risk paid off in a championship?

that happens with big personalities

kurt warner had the same shite with teh giants, went to teh cards, and was a saint (and this point isn't about preparation)

that is more a discussion of personality and ego. these things ARE necessary for a leader in most cases

As opposed to having T-Jack starting and maxing out at 8 or 9 wins those two years.
