Shaq being born a very athletic giant came with the privilege of being ushered along to a very lucrative career in professional sports. He and his coaches and mentors deserve much credit for developing his natural talent. None of what he is today would have been possible had he been born to be a 5'7" white guy.

I wouldn't expect him to, but I think it's unfair to people with doctorates who devote their entire lives to their research to equate Shaq's Ed.D to theirs. I'm proud of Shaq, but let's just put it in

It serves the purpose of the commercial. He is a poster boy becsuse he still earned his degrees, whatever they may be, even after turning pro early and making millions. A smart, successful athlete who made the time and the spent the effort to go down both roads is an easy sell and an effective spokesman.

I think the same thing when a MS student can graduate in 2 years, or get a diploma on line.

You missed a shite ton (including a shite ton of threads posted on the rant about Shaq's bonafides over the decades). Frankly, you need to edit your post and engage in a big mea culpa at this point to save face.
Bless your heart, you need to mea culpa. Shaq's "higher" degrees are jokes.

Fair enough, but as a 5'7" white guy (if I stand up straight) who shared a couple of electives with Shaq, I'll say this: dude went to class and took notes, when you absolutely knew he didn't need to.
He might have been gifted with athletic greatness, but most people with even half the physical gifts he had, coasted.

Thank you for sharing this. It is accurate. He does not have a Ph.D.
