Why so many choosing pete? did shaq just not endear himself to the lsu fans as much?

Maravich in a heartbeat!!!! I was in high school when he played at LSU. He was something to watch.

I don't have anything personal against Shaq, but Maravich was a legend that will be remembered for a very long time.

From a personality standpoint, Shaq, without a question.

From a pure basketball standpoint, Pete, without a question.

Shaq s a good guy, but the Pistol was a basketball mechanic, his abilities will NEVER be matched in collage hoops again

Shaq will forever be endeared to LSU fans, but did he avg 44 pts a game? It would have been about 55 with the 3 pt shot.
Shaq probably is more endeared to LSU, but the Pistol is like a Babe Ruth, he was a legend, more than just a great player, that kind of talent will mever be seen in collage hoops again.

You can say that Pistol would've averaged another 8 points a game if they had the three point line back in his day. On the other hand, people can say that he wouldn't have averaged 30 a game if they had allowed African Americans to play.

Love Shaq but the NBA is still trying to copy moves Pete made WITH THE BALL and always will. Future NBA players will copy Shaq's dances and marketability, maybe. Pete knew how to put the ball in the hole by any means necessary - even if it meant, KEEP SHOOTING. Pete's life changed so much for the better after he left basketball that his admiration society has expanded beyond basketball fans since his passing. LSU is very fortunate to have both of them representing LSU. Maybe Shaq can buy LSU a new place to play basketball one day and his name will be etched ''forever'' on the PETE MARAVICH ASSEMBLY CENTER - at least until another 1st round draft pick and NBA champion comes along, who made a whole lot more money than Shaq, ha, ha.

"Cant stand the Pistols son"

To O Reilly....this has nothing to do with his son....THERE'S NO COMPARISON,..PETE BY A LARGE MARGIN..SHAQ NOT EVEN IN SAME LEAGUE AS PETE...

Not that I don't like and appreciate Shaq either,...
,BOTH were Tigers that well represented LSU...
