They're all pro bowlers I don't know how you'd put the two in front of whitworth. Plus he plays left tackle.

IMO only Mawae is ahead of Whitworth.
Some say Mawae is the GOAT at center. But ill listen to Faneca over whitworth, but thats the only 2.

No. Faneca was a 6 time All Pro. Not some meaningl9ess Pro Bowl that 8 guards a year make, but All Pro. The very best at his position 6 times in his career. Faneca should be in the HOF, but guards get no respect.

My opinion.

Whitworth is a 2x all pro as well and at LT where there are much more stars and talented players. I wouldn't put one ahead of the other.

And less help along the line.

Faneca was the man though. He should have a gold jacket

Whitworth is a 1 time All Pro and a 2 time Pro Bowler. I am not knocking him at all, but his career pales in comparison to Faneca's. Faneca went to 9 Pro Bowls and was All Pro 6 of those seasons.

Wikipedia is counting 2nd team AP All Pro as well. If you go by that standard, Faneca has 8 All Pro selections (6 first team).

LINK

Faneca

If you look at comparable players for career in those links, Faneca compares to guys like Larry Allen and Willie Roaf, while Whitworth's comparables are mostly non stars. Again, I'm not trying to run the guy down, by any means, just comparing the two.

It clearly says 2x 1st team all pro on his wiki. Nobody's knocking Faneca but they're closer than you're saying. Whitworth is a Left Tackle compared to guard that's a big difference

His wiki is wrong and anyone can edit that shite. If they want to count Sporting News All Pro and shite that's fine, but most people know that's like counting Bama's Piggly Wiggly Championships.

Yes, they are different positions and one more important than the other, but one guy was hands down best in the league at his spot for about 7 years and other has been top 6 or so at his spot for about the same amount of time. Bothu really good, but I dont see how anyone can objectively say Whit's career is close to Fanaca's.

There's like 4 services that contribute 2015 has 3 LTs for 2 spots because of different services that voted. It's not 1 overall group that picks it.

Wiki isn't reliable to me. I would always go by Pro Football Reference. They clearly show the breakdeowns of whuo won which awards from which services.

Only non-objective, bias homers say it's close. The guy that responded to me said whit is always one of the top linemen. Where are the pro-bowls / all pro selections? Whit is a solid linemen, but Faneca was better and it's not even close.

A lot of players are 2 x pro bowlers. Hell now a days with so many people withdrawing , people who would not normally go end up in Hawaii.

Anyways , last time I checked , 6 or 8 - 2 doesn't = 2

* EDIT *

LINK

He ONLY made it 2013 because he was chosen an alternate.

Ben Wilkerson's career was ruined by the midget having him in on the last play of a game that was already won.
