You have me cracking up over here! Thanks I needed the laugh. I can just picture you over there fuming and pecking away, fast as can be, at those keys on the keyboard.

Indeed, I have to peck away swiftly - I have to get going soon since I'm stuck with clinic this week and I won't be post call 'til Wednesday eve. Puts me in a foul mood, like this season hasn't already, of course.

All of that notwithstanding, the season is what it is, a down year in a golden era, a year where things didn't go as anyone hoped they would - hell, I wanna win the SECCG and the NCG every year, I never want LSU to struggle through a down year, but I know it ain't gonna go that way.

I just sit here and think about how disappointed we all are and I know how much more disappointed the staff and our LSU Tigahs are, especially our graduating seniors. I expect they are bemoaning what is and thinking on what coulda, shoulda, woulda been "if only"...

...and I'd wager the "if only" varies greatly from young man to young man.

All too many of the posters here act like these student athletes don't give a damn, that they can't possibly be as disappointed as we LSU fans are. Hell yes they are. 20 of our seniors will never again don the P&G and run out of that tunnel in Death Valley as players ... I guarantee you they are far more bitterly disappointed at their performance on their home field this year than we could ever be.

Am I going to remember in the coming years that Demetrius Byrd hit a disappointing rough spot or two this year and acted out a bit? Hell no, I'm gonna remember D Byrd for that last second TD catch against Awbarn in Tigah stadium.

Am I going to remember that hit me in the hands bobbled catch turned interception Lafell missed last year? Hell no, I'm going to look back and remember all the clutch catches he snatched out of the air in crunch time.

They are, after all, student athletes, they are our LSU Tigahs and they and we ARE LSU.

Have a good one and a great week!

a head coach who is in total denial

You don't know that he is. Just because he doesn't blab everything publicly doesn't necessarily mean he's in denial. Trust me, in my profession, I can tell you a thing or two about denial.

That aside, FTR, if it were left to me 'n my hubby, we'd probably never hire anything but a defensively oriented HC in the SEC, but that's just us.

That said, CLM is our coach at LSU and I'll be damned if we're going to dump him because of this year. Do we agree with everything he's done this year and every decision he's made? Nope, but he's earned a little more latitude than just this year to right the ship...

...and since I don't want to look and read like an idiotic fool - I just detest having to eat crow and admit I was wrong later - if CLM does correct problem areas in the coming year, I'll refrain from trashing him and bitching endlessly about how we could've done SO much better post-Saban.

I may not be happy with the play and intensity of some of our student athletes this year. I may throw a nutty in the privacy of my living room during a game, whatever. However, it'll be a damn cold day in hell before I ever publicly trash or boo any student athlete who puts on the P&G and whom we call "LSU Tigah". Period.

Indeed. That's why this message board needs a septic tank service. Either that, or a fertilizer plant.

after 3 blowouts and a struggle against troy......its not a hair trigger reaction...its they way we are losing and playing...no one knows what the frick to do out there.

Exactly. There is nothing hair-trigger about it. Fans are tired of seeing a sub-par product on the field. As they should be. LSU is at a level where it should basically reload year in and year out. And clearly this is not the case this year. And I don't even mean the record, because we all knew (well, those of us with any shred of intelligence) that this was going to be a down year. But nobody expected us to be THIS terrible.

We've beaten one solid team (SC). And they're barely solid. Any other good team we've played, we've not only lost to, but we've gotten our asses kicked (Bama being the exception). And what's worse is that we got our asses kicked by bad teams as well...the only reason we won the Troy game is because they all of a sudden forgot how to play football.

I am never really for booing players, but when you have a QB who throws 7 pick-6s in one season, guess what, people are gonna boo (both for him and for the coaches who refused to give our backups any significant PT). And in a sense, rightly so. When LSU, known for years now for our awesome defense, is letting people hang half a hundred on us, and not being able to cover anything in the secondary or make a tackle, guess what, people are gonna boo.

The crowd/fans, as a whole, basically only have two ways of voicing their dispeasure...booing and leaving/not going to games. And fans have been doing a lot of both this year.

This team is showing a lack of drive, a lack of skill, a lack of preparedness, and just an overall lack of giving a frick (not saying the players don't care, just that they aren't showing that they do). And as well as Miles has done since he's been here, that falls nowhere else but on his shoulders. If things don't change, and change soon, this program is in for quite a fall from the CFB elite. And that is a shame.

Have you confused the SEC with one of those left coast college FB conferences? Apparently so.

I've got a word for neophytes who think they can do my job at the hospital and I'll wager both collegiate players and their coaches, from top to bottom, have one for armchair wannabe locker room and game day strategists.

understood. I agree that the 4 losses would not feel as bad if we had been competitive rather than being blown out. My post was not meant to attack those fans who have left early or booed. That's their prerogative. What prompted my original question was the television images of a nearly empty Tiger Stadium while there was still much time on the clock in the last couple of games. I was wondering if this has happened before.

Penn State, Big 10 Conference, never mind, I get it.

Serious congrats on the Rose Bowl berth. Please go atone for the conference embarrassment in the USC/tOSU debacle.

All BS aside, we sincerely hope JoPa's hip replacement surgery goes smoothly, that he's up and walking by tonight and we trust he'll be coaching in the Rose Bowl as well.

Explain what is wrong about this statement:

Do you disagree with that? The first thing everybody points to about Miles is his recruiting. And we've had some great recruiting classes since he's been here. So to put it as simply as I can, we have talented kids waiting in the wings to take over the positions on the team. But, they have to be coached and developed into college players. Which shouldn't be too difficult, since the caliber of players we recruit is so high.

So that means we should not miss much of a beat when players graduate, leave early, or get hurt.

Yet here we are, struggling at QB, CB, FS, etc. We SHOULD be reloading, but we are not.

And left coast conferences..?? Clearly you misread what I am saying. Reloading doesn't mean we win championships every year. But it means we play solid and are good every year. And this year we aren't. But we should be...

C'mon, given my profession, I generally take a gander a profiles before responding. BRB soon's as get out of this traffic quagmire.

I think most fans have and would support the team, even in a loss, but the fans are booing because of the confusion, lack of leadership, and the manner in which games are being lost.
