What's with all the hate for Dugas. Serious question. Did I miss something?

You people are idiots...Dugas is a Lafayette kid who grew up as an LSU fan...was NOT offered by LSU...what was he supposed to do ? MORONS

Evidently he wasn't a real LSU cause no real LSU fan would ever support bama and to answer your question as to what he was supposed to do…go check out Chris Cotton's personal info on the LSU roster LINKand read this quote
quote:

said he would rather walk-on at LSU over "any other scholarship offered to me"

Now that is a true Louisiana boy and a REAL LSU fan!

Hey Sheek,

I'm coming over to Hoover for my first SEC Baseball Tourney.

Thanks for the recommendation on Jubilee Joe's and Cajun Steamer, but what are some other local spots that I need to check out (save the Dreamland recommendation)? I'm staying at Homewood Suites, so places in the Galleria vicinity would be best.

Thanks!

LSU will not play USCe in their first game. That's the only given.

Great news for USCe. Doubt they'll want any part of LSU after getting swept by them this week.

The tournament format is good...I am glad they got rid of the flipping of the brackets.

I like this format better

The only thing I dislike with the format is that USCe will get a day off (Wednesday), assuming LSU is #2 and USCe is #3.

So LSU would meet USCe on Thursday after the Cocks had a day of rest.

Lowered expectations would be best.

They do have a 5 Guys on 31, Slavatores is a great pizza place, also on 31, Jim and Nicks bbq is good, not great, also on 31, Michael's near the Galleria is ok, Firebird grill in Patton Creek is ok too, the "Cajun" places are meh, but if you travel at all you know cajun places outside of south louisiana are usually sub par.

FYI, No Alcohol sales on Sundays.

Although SC would get Thursday off, it looks like if LSU is #2 seed and wins first two games, then Tigers get Friday off.

So pitching wise, the new format does not press the staff and leaves SEC teams pretty rested for regionals. Without double-elimination format, teams will play about four games over five or six days.

it is double elimination

so this is how it works

assuming all top seeds win

1 and 2 are off

on tuesday

3 plays 10
4 plays 9
5 plays 8
6 plays 7

on wednesday

1 plays 5
2 plays 6
10 plays 8
7 plays 9

on thursday

1 plays 3
2 plays 4

5 plays 8
6 plays 7

on friday

3 plays 5

6 plays 6

on saturday (I think)

1 plays 3

2 plays 4

on sunday

1 plays 2

worst case scenario of games to be played is 6 that is a full week of baseball

best case scenario is 4

assuming you want to win it all obviously

I don't like South Carolina being in our half. Let them sweep us and get the overall #1

That is a terrible bracket.

So if the 3/4 seeds start 2-0, they play Tuesday, get off Wednesday, play Thursday, and get off Friday.

Plus, the semis are single elimination?

So LSU could beat (in this scenario) Georgia, then beat USC. Then USC makes their way back to the semis for an LSU (2-0) vs USC (2-1) rematch, and beats LSU and LSU is out.
