So every batter has an equal chance or running out a grounder?

If a batter, especially one with speed, puts the ball in play, he has a better chance of getting on base.

If you strikeout, you have almost a 0% chance (given a very small percentage for a passed ball)

The amount of bunt singles, beat grounders and errors (which is almost the same for anyone), is going to be negligible. You speak as if leadoff hitters are beating it out on every play.

im not saying its a great percentage, but someone with speed is going to put the pressure on the fielders to make a play. It surely isnt a negligable difference.

putting the ball in play is no doubt better than a strikeout, especially for a batter with speed.

I'll alert the IOC. Just quit making noise. I can hear you all the way in the other end of the house.

Anthony and Louis maybe at the top of the list on the NCAA baseball stats as well.

At the margins. To walk, you have to take pitches. No one has an eye good enough to never take a strike, so everyone will take some strikes.

If you convince player that strikeouts are bad, they'll be more likely to swing at balls, reducing their overall OBP.

Sure, avoiding strikeouts can be good (as long as you don't hit into a double play), but it' way, way overrated.
