All I know is if T Rich or any Bama player so much as high steps or glances in a semi-taunting way nov 5 while they are going into the endzone, we better see the hanky on the field, regardless of the score.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.

Did some digging and learned Penn Wagers is from Summerville, SC...which means he's probably farther away from B'Ham than any other Referee.

Not sure about who is in his crew, but I would be OK with Penn in Tuscaloosa.

Yep that little beady eyed sob is one of the best.

If the head official stated that penalties will be selectively enforced based on the game situation he should be immediately fired.

I agree, plus how does he know what was going through the mind of any individual official on any particular play?

That might be his inflamatory opinion, but it is an opinion beyond nyone's knowledge besides the ref that threw the flag. And if he says that he should be canned.

The penalty against Wing was a warm up for what to expect on 11/5/2011 with ALABAMA home cooking.

The Zone in B'Ham that had the fake punt occurred in a "17-14 game in the 4th quarter", that punter Brad Wing would not have been flagged,

Wait a minute. So in a 17-14 game, what Brad Wing did would not be a penalty. But in a 14-0 game, it's a penalty??

Since when does the scoreboard determine whether or not a penalty is called?

If the SEC refs were competent, it would be a penalty regardless of the scoreboard.

It's ashame the best conference in college football cannot have better officating.

This is horrible and should catch the attention of Mr. Slive. The logical conclusion after hearing a comment like this is that refs. can be subjective in thier calls where the game is close. That opens the door to so many different negative possiblities.......... This is not some high school football league, this is the premiere national college football conference! With the amount of money and prestige riding on these games having officials making statements like this leads to perception of a total lack of integrity.... It makes one wonder where Shaw's head is at if he would make a public comment such as this.. I guess its something they commonly practice, making calls based on how it affects the game..

I totally agree....he just disclosed something he did not mean to disclose, but we now see what their thinking is.

Whoever approaches the game this way SHOULD BE IMMEDIATELY FIRED.

Not sure if its been mentioned but sounds like they are setting it up for 11/5. Just in case a Bama player commits the foul and its not called they can go back and say they already made it clear that it wouldn't be called in close games

if Dick Burleson is the "guest" replay guy , Alabama could run on the field after a TD like Georgia did in the 2007 Florida game and Burleson would overrule any infraction on the field.

This is exactly what is happening.

I respect Steve Shaw, don't get me wrong, but to have ANOTHER Bama "booster" in a top position within the SEC, in any capacity, has to be alarming to any fan outside of the state of Alabama.

For years I thought the SEC worked to protect it's top teams. I was wrong. The SEC protects the top teams if you are Alabama, Auburn or Florida. Everyone else has to play by the rules.....or the manner in which the SEC chooses to interpret the rules when playing one of the three teams listed above.

Get ready for 11/5, LSU fans. It will be entertaining, that's for sure. I recommend you gain a sense of humor before that game.

Yes, it's all a part of the big plan that's being worked on as we speak for the SEC to help Alabama win.

Now where is my aluminum foil hat...
