When replay first came into use, the old fart who was commish back then did not want to spend the money to bring in another official. So each school had to provide its own reviewer. LSU used that bald headed tv announcer for several yrs. So, you got what you paid for. Slive brought in an extra official, so, as much as you trust them, that is who is making the replay calls now. I think it says a lot about the quality of game officials that for every big game, we get the same ones over & over again; presumably, the other 100 + are not good enough. Which means these clowns are the best we got.

I read it and still can't pinpoint what the author offers as evidence of a 'mystery official'.
