Screw this, I say LSU leaves the SEC and joins the BIG 12, where officials are somewhat honest and/or competent.

Ask Arkansas if they think it's a good idea to be in a conference with Texas.

as i said in the another thread:

Texas will not join the SEC...

There is only one conference where our AD said on record we will never ever join. want to guess which one that was?

Our faculty is already pissed about the lousy academics in the big 12. They would go ballistic if we join the SEC.

I hope you realize the s.e.c. has higher academic standards for athletes than the big XII. see phil loadholt.

I have a theory that anytime a school tells us that they won't do something regarding athletics because of their academic standards, they're lying.

When it comes to Texas, if academics were so important, why did they leave a conference with Baylor/Rice/SMU/TCU to go to a conference with NU/KU/Mizz/ISU/OU/OKSt?

The addition of Ok, OSU, Tex and TAM is pretty intriguing. I also like the idea of making it 4 divisions of 4 teams, winners go to a 16 team playoff.

If we divided the SEC into N,S,E, and W, how would it look. This is my guess, but the North division looks a little weak compared to others.

WEST - Oklahoma, Oklahoma St., Texas, Texas A&M
EAST - Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia, Ole Miss
NORTH - Kentucky, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Arkansas
SOUTH - LSU, Florida, Auburn, Mississippi St.

Will never happen, but I'd like to see Kentucky out of the S.E.C. (Too far North geographically) and replaced by Clemson, Ga.Tech or F.S.U.....

Kentucky gets the nod over Vandy and South Carolina for basketball.

West Virginia, Cincinnati, etc. are just going to quit playing football?

No, they would joint Conf-USA, Big 11, ACC or the MAC.

If they join those conferences, it won't be just for football. They'll join for all sports. End result is they won't be playing basketball in the Big East.

Not so fast!!! Signed, America East Conference, Atlantic 10 Conference, Atlantic Coast Conference, Atlantic Sun Conference, Big South Conference, Big Sky Conference, Big West Conference, Colonial Athletic Association, Great West Conference, Horizon League, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, Missouri Valley Conference, Northeast Conference, Ohio Valley Conference, Patriot League, The Summit League, West Coast Conference, Western Athletic Conference

Exactly... you make my point for me. The Big East will be reduced to this level. Notre Dame is not going to be too happy with the payout from a minor conference when the Big-10 is throwing cash at them.
