Vanderbilt University has been picked to win the 2020 Southeastern Conference Championship as voted on by the league’s 14 head coaches.

Vanderbilt garnered eight first place votes, Florida had two while Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia and Mississippi State each had one. The Commodores were predicted to win the SEC Eastern Division, while Arkansas was the favorite to win the SEC Western Division.

Since 1996, the SEC has named a regular season champion as well as a tournament champion. Prior to 1996, the tournament champion was considered the SEC champion.

Points were compiled on a descending basis for each division. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team, and each coach also voted for one team as an overall conference champion.

The 2020 regular season for SEC teams begins Feb. 14, with conference play set to begin March 13.

Cole Henry is about to take the SEC by storm.

That is some damn good pitchers on that list though. Shows you the talent level of pitching in the SEC.

I don't have a problem with that list. The LSU players that could be on there are probably left off because they didn't get a full season in.

1. Garza - if he's fully healthy all year, he can put up all SEC numbers with his bat.

2. Mathis - isn't put on there because he wasn't at LSU last year. All signs so far point to him being damn good.

3. Henry/Marceaux - have the stuff. Especially Henry. Both missed time last year, and it's not like that list of starters sucks.

Why is that funny? Did you notice who was on the first team? They don't exactly suck. Friday nights in the SEC will be down right filth from the mounds.

The conference is absolutely loaded. I fully expect to make a run at the West, though. Miss St is going to be pretty tough.

The west has 5 CWS caliber teams. The east has 3. It is going to be an absolute battle every single week. I think Vandy comes out 20-10. The west winner finishes with 18. UF or UGA may get 18, by benefiting from a slightly weaker eastern division. 2-5 in the west will be around 16. That'll be nothing to complain about. It probably doesn't host a super though. I think a healthy LSU staff, along with a few hitters coming through, could compete for those 18 west wins.

4. Tennessee - Garrett Crochet

5. South Carolina - Carmen Mlodzinski (sp?)

T3. LSU (3) - Cole Henry

5. Texas A&M - Asa Lacy

Marceaux has the talent, but that dude has no business being on a preseason all sec list

Didn't say he should have been. Just like Garza, Mathis and Henry don't belong on the preseason. They all have the talent to be there at the end of the season though.

I think Garza specifically. I'm not impressed by the two that were chosen.
