So, when I wandered here a few weeks ago, and was met with courtesy, I guess I just ventured in on the right day.
Are you guys really chastising a Husky fan for thinking that they might compete? Really? Isn't that his god given right as a diehard sports fan? Believing that no matter what, if the ball bounces the right way, his team has a chance?
Regarding the pissing contest about noise, we, just like you, have for decades seen teams waltz into our stadium, and wilt under the suffocating noise. There once was a time that a win at Husky Stadium was as rare as a win in Death Valley, you newbie LSU fans don't remember that. But it, when things are rolling, is an utterly intimidating place to play.
Its unfortunate that the game will not be very competitive, because if this were a better Husky team, even the teams from earlier this decade, you'd be able to hear Husky fans at their apex.
The person that said you have to play well in order for the crowd to be a factor is absolutely correct. Thats why most of you will walk out of the stadium tomorrow and remark that it wasn't that loud, and we few Husky fans on this board have no idea what we are talking about, and that Death Valley is the end all, be all of college football environments. I guess thats fine. We all know what a great environment Death Valley is, but I'd like to see you guys head up hear again in four or five years.
I respect and enjoy watching your team play and I believe nothing really compares to SEC football. You can scoff at our team plenty, but don't rag on the fans that are the most passionate in the Pac-10(this, is not even remotely disputable).

Corvallis would disagree.
It will be loud for a while, but won't be a factor. UDub gets pwned.

Husky Stadium may be a tough place to play. It could have been a den of doom for opposing teams in the past.
BUT as a whole, I've talked to fans from all conferences in all walks of life who want to go see a LSU game in Death Valley before they die. Heard it many, many, times actually. I've never heard Husky stadium mentioned EVER as a place where that strikes fear in opposing teams. I've heard Autzen mentioned more times than Husky.
I have also seen many fans talk before the game about how Tiger Stadium is no different than most schools out west (from Arizona fans and Oregon State specifically). When they came down, I talked to quite a few. They said they were more impressed after having the experience, even after they had heard the stories.
No offense. Just being honest.
I'll be pulling for the Huskies the rest of the year.

Down playing the noise at Husky Stadium cost Miami a National Championship in 2000.
Yea, against a Wash. team that was actually pretty damn good. These plugs you got playing now just plain and simply suck.

Corvallis? Really? Thats funny. They've got good fans, but so does WSU, as far as a passionate fan base that travels, UW surpasses both.
Autzen Stadium is a great environment, but I'd think they'd lose points for having probably the most classless fans in the entire country.
Greatest Oregon related experience was going to a game at WSU when Oregon was in town, going to the bathroom only to discover yellow rubber ducks in every urinal.
I've got most of the SEC stadiums on a list of places I have to hit before I go. Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, LSU, Bama, Georgia, its a different experience down there, no doubt.

Well, cross LSU off your list.
J/K
If you decide to come here, it's all about what you make it. If you can't take some ribbing, then I wouldn't come.
If you come here with a laid-back attitude and enjoy yourself, it will be one of the best CFB experiences of your life.

Opposing fans rarely get under my skin, Oregon fans are flat out appalling.

I'm here in Seattle, enjoying seeing all the Tiger fans already here and anxious to see those that are on planes on the way here as I'm typing this!
With that being said, I was having lunch today and the guy behind the counter was talking to us and asked, "Have you ever been in the stadium? It's loud. It's like being in a tin can, like being in a tin can." Everyone at the counter were Tiger fans and the lady next to me had this expression on her face that screamed [should I say something, should I?] So she did and says, "Yeah, Tiger Stadium is REALLY loud!" And everyone busted out laughing!

My 1st hand observations would put UDub fans as above average....certainly nothing special.
First you say:
Then, you redefined the criteria:
What's next...the most passionate fans who drive on I-5 and wear purple?

Your bowl shape design isn't as loud no matter how many fans you pack into the sucker

And that's 93000 fans after hours of tailgating and having The golgen band from tigerland on your side!
