Scott says the offense is "getting after it" in practice

Says the offense outplayed the defense the other day. Also says that Lee has thrown the ball well, but Jefferson is clearly a leader and is handling himself very well on the field.
Also reported in another blog that Crowton and Chavis are barking at players in practice, telling T Tolliver to step it up among others. Hopefully these coaches will motivate the players to perform better than they did last year.

Hopefully, this is a GOOD thing. If I recall, the offense looked pretty good last Spring, only to find out it was because the defensive schemes sucked.

Don't forget, we're still able to blame RP for next season too.

quote:The defensive players have reported that practice is much more intense and the coaches have a much more hands on approach than last year, so I think we will see a big improvement at least in the process, which hopefully will translate to the field.

Thank God for "the process".
I think the defense will be back to what we're accustomed to seeing from our Tigers. If so, the fact that the offense is outplaying the defense in practice bodes well for next year.

This scares me on some level.
Doesnt defense win championships?

Scott didnt really say much of this. It was mostly the reporter putting words in his mouth. Also said that JLee was the most improved player on the whole team.
Scott did say there was competition for the starting job between the two.

I'm glad to hear that Scott is at least saying something good about Lee. He's played favorites with JJ everytime I've heard him speak. CS and JJ are homies, so CS isnt exactly 100% objective.

that is the last thing about half the people on this board want to hear.
I look for JL to be the most improved player on the team... mainly bc he has the most motivation.
I think he is gonna do well.

On a side note, BayouBengalBlog.com - the writer mentioned that Brandon Taylor has been starting in place of Chris Hawkins at CB...FWIW...Has anyone else heard this news...

I can see from your "homie" comment what kind of mentality you have fwiw

well after listening to CS's comments it was apparent to me that he has no idea who will start.
He mentioned live drills would be the tale tale sign.. and thats where JL is going to have to show imporvement if he is going to win ab job.
NOt throwing routes during 7on 7 drills.

I wish they could take of the green shirts for a couple of practices without risking injury.
then we could see if lee has the balls that disappeared last year.

Yeah, b/c the rantards here like Doc dont know enough about football to understand that a kid can actually improve from their freshman season.
I dont know who will start, but I'll trust Crowton to make that decision over the likes of Doc and the other self-proclaimed know-it-alls on this site.
