Well, Bama needs to work on playing easier schedule then, or separate their only two difficult games.
You think they have control over their SEC schedule arrangement?

LSU had to play UF, USC, aTm, Bama then MSU in five straight games.
Who's fault is it that you couldn't move the ball on Florida? Don't blame the schedule.
South Carolina came off their most dominating win of a Big 6 member ever. They're a totally different animal at home than they are on the road. Playing in the Death Valley at night after such an emotional, monumental game had an effect on the team. Besides, we all know that it's rare to walk away from Death Valley with a win. LSU dominated the game, and the home night crowd factor played a huge role. Why are you mentioning them in this stretch? It didn't look like a tough game for LSU on the field.
Regarding Texas A&M, the offense was still developing. A few posters have pointed out that the winds were strong which affected both quarterbacks' passing ability. Do you think Florida beats Texas A&M in November or bowl season? They would have had a chance, but with their offense, I don't see them pulling out the win against a much improved A&M team.
After the A&M game, you played BYE. So this wasn't a 5 straight game stretch.
The Alabama game was yet another night game in the Death Valley, which Miles rarely loses. It was a great game, and the second toughest on in this 6 week stretch.
Putting Mississippi State on this list is laughable; they were a joke of a team that could only beat weak competition. Don't let the 7 wins distract you.

I think after they both figured out JF & just didn't bull rush him on every play. The DBs would sit back & take away his WRs, then ppl like Mingo, Sam, Micah, & others waited for JF to break off running up field. Then the SPEED of real SEC teams would contain him or force a bad pass. Just my opinion.

LSU made the tight ends do what tight ends are supposed to do force the ballcarrier to stay in the middle of the field and let the linebackers do the tackling Lsu also switched to a three man front so they can bring up another defensive back to come up and shut down the middle !

A threefrontline enabled Lsu to bring up a fast defensive back and the shutdown AM speed up the middle!

quote:I recall Sam honoring his gap like a freakin statue while a play went wide of him for 6 or 7 yds. If he would've crashed, JM would've been in the 2nd level off to the races.
Mingo and Monty contained and kept him inside, and our backers and safety kept him from hitting the seams
JM feasts off of DL getting upfield and giving him seams.

Bama's prototypical NFL lb's are bigger but had problems getting to the edges where LSU's did not
I've been wanting to see Bama play a dynamic spread offense like Oregon. 270lb LBs can't possibly run around that much.
