While I don't think that you can ignore Crowton's track record of starting out strong and fizzling down the stretch, another year of JJ being inept at QB with a garbage offense and I'll really start to wonder how much was Crowton's fault.

there are a couple posters on here that dump 90% of JJ mediocracy on GC.. Im not saying that he wasnt part of the problem, but as you jsut said the guy didnt wake up one day with a diff qb and forget how to coach as some here would want you to believe.
Execution was our problem last season.
This excuse of JJ's problems being bc of eveyone and everything other than him will come to a head this season... we will see.

false...most people here understand that he played like shite last year but either trust the coaching staff to determine the best option or believe themselves that he's the option.

Well consider Gary Crowton was not only the OC but the freaking QB coach, yeah. If JJ was the only QB with issues, then I would say yes he was mostly the problem. But the fact that BOTH QBs lacked confidence, could not execute the simplest plays that any Division 1 caliber offense should execute, like the screen pass for example, and just downright made stupid mistakes constantly leads me to believe the person coaching them was the problem.

Crowton has a history of winning with senior QBs and then not developing young ones and failing, then when he leaves a QB coach comes in and teaches them and they do well. See: Dennis Dixon for example.
Fact is, Crowton's not a QB coach, or if he is he's terrible at developing QBs. He installs a complicated offense and doesn't develop talent well; it's a recipe for disaster. He has to walk into a situation with a smart senior QB (Flynn) and his offense will shine.. but once that's over, it's just not going to work well.
That being said, JJ was very inept in 2010. He had a decent season in 2009, one to build off of and it just didn't happen in 2010.. let's hope it happens in 2011

3 to 4 for me. The game plan and the individual play calls won't be very different from what it would have been with Krags. The uncertainty is how he performs in the mechanics of actually making the calls. I don't have any reason to think he won't do well - just don't have any direct evidence other than his Bowling Green stats about how he will do.

Hopefully Stud and Krags have shown JJ how to spike the football on a 2 minute drill with no timeouts. What the hell does he have against spiking it?
Maybe when JJ was a kid his father spiked the football at him when he messed up? I hate to make such a retarded statement, but I don't know what else could possibly be the issue? Maybe he needs to sit on a couch with a therapist and a babydoll and point on the doll where the football was spiked at him?
He needs to watch Peyton Manning run a 2 minute drill.

some of those are actually legit....but i've never read a post that said JJ had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with his issues.
