They were doing jumprope and exercises with the young kids promoting health and fitness. Saw a few handicapped kids. Makes me proud to be a fan of LSU. Looks like Andre Stringer has shed about 10 pounds and Eddie Ludwig looks like he is about 6'4" compared to the two 7 footers. Got me a little excited about the upcoming season.

Good to hear about Stringer, he needed to lose a little weight if he's going to be a point guard in this league

Good, hopefully that means we won't have to play Eddie at the 5 if players get in foul trouble

This...for someone his size to be successful at this level quickness and good ball handling are a must and those are two things he did not show last year.

Shedding some of that baby fat might help. Hopefully he's been working on dribbling drills all off-season.

Without question. Hopefully Hickey is good enough to motivate that in Stringer and if it doesn't let's hope Hickey is good enough to take that spot over.

Your proud of a team that taunts handicapped children with jumprope? I am just kidding of course. I know every school does it, but i feel the same way. It is great to see athlete giving back, especially to children.

I've heard good things about Hickey, but then again I heard good things about Malcolm. Let's hope Hickey delivers

How many turnovers did they commit during the time you saw them?

For me that's the biggest X-factor mg. I think competent play at the point is the most crucial ingredient in us being competive.

Last year I thought the X-factors were Stringer and Harris and neither brought what I thought we'd need, nor was it even close.

Plus White didn't bring what I thought he would either...and I didn't even exactly expect him to be a star.

Even just average SEC point play will help everyone else tremendously. We couldn't even get into our offense last year.

Agree. We need someone who can handle the ball and run our offense, what I think could help either PG is the fact that we have size down low, opponents are going to have to respect us in the paint so there will be less pressure on the perimeter.

And I hear Trent is allegedly going to run motion this year and also try to get baskets with early offense this year. I think that's a good decision.

Man, he really should have done that last year. I know alot of teams still run that high post screen weave crap, but Stringer's inability to handle nuetered that offense from the get go. Never could understand Trent's stubborness in sticking with that. He even ran Stringer off a high screen on a couple of end-of-game situations like that was our best option?

I don't think it's any coincidence that two of our better games were against State and Stansbury teaches to go underneath the high screen.

Everyone else hard hedged Stringer and took us out of the offense from jump cause he could not handle or pass well enough to make anyone pay.

Please let this be true, it'd make a huge difference.

I agree. I also hear he may be making some subtle changes in some of his defensive philosiphy like he may be fronting the post some this year.

I've long been puzzled by his defensive system. He seems to detest any help in the post or any traps or presses of any kind. It was painful to watch him leave Chris Johnson twisting in the wind trying to guard even mediocre centers in the post.

The talent has certainly been the main issue the last two years, but Trent's stuborness I thought compounded the problem.

If what I hear is true, maybe at least he's softening on that.

Of course he changes it this year when it seems like this would be the year he'd need post help the least. I'm looking forward to having O'Bryant and Hamilton on the court, O'Bryant is just a monster size wise.

Good point. Both are big, but so was Green. The difference is both have some led in their arse and I think have a presence in the post. All Green ever seemed to do was throw his hands up and turn sideways.
