It's pretty incredible to think about how Saban was allowed to do whatever he wanted in terms of buying players for years and the NCAA turned a blind eye.
Wasn’t he extremely tight with the NCAA Comissioner?

Saban had Dodge Chargers and cash money when no one else did.. the NCAA knew this but didn’t do anything about it…
When your best buddy is the NCAA president (Mark Emmert), you can get away with a few things other teams cannot.

That is BS! There has been payoffs for top athletes as long as there has been competition.
Bear Bryant signed the best Wishbone QB from Louisiana when he changed offenses. When that QB played his final game he was asked, why he picked Alabama over LSU. He answered, "they offered me more".
Reggie White told the world, after he was in Green Bay, that Tennessee had paid him. It was broadcast on Chattanooga TV.
Dave Roller, DT from Ky told the same story about Bear Bryant.
NIL just made it legal.
Professional Athletes have been posing as Amateurs from the beginning. The ones I mentioned went public.
Then there is the Center from NO who has played on two National Championship teams.
