Harris will be called upon
Miles' quote stated that Harris would play significantly. That tells me that he will play. At least that's my translation of Les Speak.

Normally, pretty much agree with this. In the specific case of LSU/Bama though, I truly believe the following:
1. Bama recruits and schemes specifically to beat LSU.
2. LSU does the same thing
3. The egoes of both coaches will dictate a "we do the same things, mine are better than yours" game plan.
4. Thus, Alabama will play Bama ball, and we'll play our game. Ours will look eerily similar to the Ole Miss game, and why wouldn't it. Without turnovers and missed opportunities, we RUN AWAY WITH THAT GAME.
If the real LSU team is the team that played Ole Miss, LSU wins this game, and it's not all that close. Our defense played as good as I've ever seen an LSU defense play, and after every LSU offensive snap, all I saw was red and blue about 3 yards south of where they started. And they may be just that team.....a young team the grew up in Gainesville, matured against Kentucky, and now realizes they actually are grown up and ready to take their place amongst the grown ups of the 2014 college football world.

Damn, I'm ready for this game to start. LOS dual at its best.

Did any of you stop and think that maybe it would be a little easier for BH to enter a HOME game in relief than starting on the ROAD against a top 3 team?

Question...will Miles and Cam have a trick razzed dazzle play where both QBs come in for a play? Hope so.
I doubt it. I don't see Harris coming in if the game is close. Miles out-Milesed himself last time in Tiger Stadium, I think he plays it a little more vanilla. His reputation is made, coaches have to prepare for everything already.
That said, I certainly expect to see some new wrinkles for this game. More designed QB runs, probably different looks on the line that Bama hasn't seen yet. But I don't see any fake punts or FG attempts, maybe a 4th down gamble if it's around the Bama 35-40.
I think Miles thinks can beat this Alabama team straight up with a power run attack mixed in with just enough passing to keep the safeties off the line. He won't need tricks.

Trevor Knight's stats last year were pretty abysmal until he lit Saban up in the Sugar Bowl.

Just checking in to say op is a fricking idiot. It's ok if you want Harris to play,
(Even though he clearly wasn't ready against auburn) but if you actually think he will play Saturday, you're delusional

quote:What change of pace did Lee bring? He's slower and reacts worse to pressure.
If a change of pace wasn't introduced on 1/9/12 then it's not going to happen this weekend either.
quote:Stop perpetuating the myths. LSU did cross the 50. LSU did have something to lose. It was a two score game until about 5:00 minutes left.
It was literally the definition of having nothing to lose by middle of the 3rd quarter and well we never crossed the 50 yard line.
The problem wasn't Jefferson. The problem was the offensive line. They couldn’t move the Bama D-line and they couldn’t hold them back either. There was no run game, and there was no time to pass.
If anything, Jefferson in the pocket slowed down the Bama rush because his presence forced Bama to use a mush rush to contain Jefferson and prevent him from running. It’s the same idea LSU used against Manziel to keep him from breaking off long runs. Slow the rush and contain the QB. Bama would not have used a mush rush against Lee because Lee is no threat to run.
If Miles put in Lee, there’s still no run game, and now there is even less time to pass. If there is one thing Bama feasts on, it’s immobile pocket passers. Lee’s numbers against Bama confirm this fact. His QB Rating against Bama could fit in a shoe box.
During 2011, "efficient" is the single word that defined Lee. You'll be hard pressed to find a post about Lee without the word "efficient" just a few words away. The thing about being defined as “efficient” is that it means that you aren’t a prolific passer; you don’t throw it a lot. In fact, it typically means that the offense is run-oriented and passes infrequently. Prior to the Bama game, Lee averaged less than 20 passes per game. Lee had only one game in 2011 in which he threw for more than 200 yards: 213 yards against Mississippi State. Lee wasn’t a prolific passer. He was efficient.
Efficient works when your team can run the ball effectively. Efficient means that the defense is focused on stopping the run. Efficient means that the defense is not expecting a pass. Efficient means that you have time to throw because the defense is not focuses on stopping the pass. Efficient does not work when you aren’t running well. Efficient does not work when your line can’t block. Bama’s D was suffocating that night. Bama would have killed Lee.
LSU should not have been playing Bama. LSU beat Bama at their house in the Game of the Century. You play the hand you’re dealt, but it was a raw deal.
Bama was playing for redemption. Bama had lost with their prior offensive strategy, so they were forced to abandon it. Saban took the ball out of Richardson’s hands and made McCarron win the game. Bama threw on nearly every first down. It was a risky strategy, but what did Bama have to lose. They had already lost to LSU trying to run the ball. McCarron had a terrific night; thus, the strategy worked.
Even though Bama had flipped its offensive strategy, it does not necessarily mean that LSU should have. Hindsight is always 20/20, and we know now that LSU’s plan did not work. However, LSU trailed Georgia 10-0 at the half in the SECCG. The offense was atrocious the first half but came around in the second half, and LSU blew out Georgia. With a few dozen plays left, it was not unreasonable for Miles to go with the strategy that worked so well in the SECCG. It was at least as reasonable as trying a QB that was the antithesis of the ideal QB to use against Bama.

Nice assessment Wild, think your spot on.
At least we don't have long before speculation becomes hindsight.

You're obsessed with delusion.
Probably due to being butthurt over having your jimmies rustled.

This is a fking copout. The man has some tools that could be used against Bama. Some small, controlled packages for him could be used in the game.

Dammit Salv, nice work. Agree with ninety odd percent.

You have about the only post here that has provided a decent perspective of what happened on 1/9. However, the entire season doesn't match this agenda.
"Even though Bama had flipped its offensive strategy, it does not necessarily mean that LSU should have. " LSU/Miles hardly ever adjust like this...hence the frustration of many fans when they get to see Saban adjust on 1/9 and take a title.
"Hindsight is always 20/20, and we know now that LSU’s plan did not work. However, LSU trailed Georgia 10-0 at the half in the SECCG. The offense was atrocious the first half but came around in the second half, and LSU blew out Georgia." LSU went into that game with the same gameplan and changed nothing. BAMA adapted and won. L
With that abysmal highschool offense of something like 50 yards in the first half and zero first downs, a QB change should have occurred, against UGA but it didn't. The Defense is what saved that game and got the scoring started.

You should know by now not to believe anything Miles says about playing players. He always comes back with "we wanted to but the opportunity never presented itself".
