No, 3 straight 10-plus win seasons and not losing more than 2 in any of the 3 years. Saban lost 3 or more every year he was here except 2003. Saban's a great coach who most of us don't care for and Miles has stepped it up a notch.

So you were saying this after the loss to Arky right? Or only after the stars aligned and you magically got into the BCS title game?

I looked at the trophies. Looked at the plaques. They say "National Champion." Don't say "One Loss National Champion" or "2 Loss National Champion or even "Split National Championship." If it makes your sour grapes, sore loser, mediocre program little heart feel better to find a way to dump on the undisputed 2007 championship team, that, little buddy, is your problem, not ours. Saban did great things for the LSU program. Les has taken Saban's players, and a bunch of his own, and done better. Maybe Nick would have done as well. Wasn't trending that way when he left, but everybody has the occasional down year, right?

If by magically you mean beat Tennessee and every other school choking then yes.

I was ticked, no doubt, but show me any season in which some stars don't align for the team possessing the Crystal...goodness gracious....

That is true, every team catches some breaks on the way to a national championship. However, I think it will be a long, long time before we see something like last season again. I'm not trying to side with LuckyLes here, because he is just trying to get under your skin, but to say that "some stars" aligned for LSU last season is a bit of an understatement. After losing their second game of the season at home in the regular season finale, LSU has to be the luckiest team to win the national title we've seen in a long, long time but that doesn't matter, because they're still national champs.

Don't entirely agree. Sure, having West Virginia choke was improbable. But at that point, every team with a viable argument had 2 losses except for Ohio State. Among those teams, there was no real doubt which one had the best case. And when the smoke cleared, Ohio State had 2 losses as well, their last by a significant margin to the team that was the consensus #2 going into the game. Best college football team of 2007? No real argument.

Missouri only had one loss at this time as well, and were ranked #1, giving them a viable argument I'd guess.

Is it possible that Alabama can go out and beat a few quality teams before your whole fan base runs their head. You guys have pretty much done absolutely nothing in the BCS era of college football. Please just beat a few of the big boys in this conference and then run your mouth. Alabama is nothing as of right now with regard to current SEC power.

As for your "lucky" talk, that is usually what unsuccessful people say to successful people in this world. It's funny because the harder LSU works the "luckier" we get. Get a clue and go beat a few people then run your head.

Missouri lost to Oklahoma the same night that W. Virginia lost.

I thought "at that point" meant when Arky beat LSU, my bad.

Believe me, that 41-17 victory Alabama had over Tennessee kept the Alabama fanbase warm all winter I'm guessing. They also beat Arkansas last year, who was a very good team.

No biggie. I think that if the kind of parity in quality that exists in the SEC were to develop in the Big 10, Pac-10, ACC and Big 12, a no-loss season would become extremely rare, and a one-loss season would be the exception rather than the rule. I suspect that 5-10 years from now, 2007 will look like the beginning of a new era, rather than an aberration.

Lucky Les , you can split hairs about it, but last year, we won the National Championship and our team did better.....than yours did.

We also beat yall!

Execellent points. Also, add in a 12th game in the regular season with a 13th game in the conference championship. I think LSU's season is the beginning of a new era. College football is slowly following the path of the NFL. The SEC is now the closest thing to the NFL between its coaching parity, speed, and athleticism. It definately resembles a farm system.
