Still on a huge learning curve here, and understood this year was going to be frustrated at times. He's a great team player, and I'm sure he likes winning more than stats.

I hope so!

He needs to be used as a RB/WR and more-so a RB. He's a specialty guy right now.

How about running him as a wildcat QB?

Do they have any confidence in his passing ability?

They use it in the NFL.

Also, Bama uses it with success.

the cold hard truth is that he may just not be on the level of a Percy Harvin.

He gets a couple rushes a game. Don't think he caught more than 1 pass tonight, but I think his value goes beyond stats. Opposing defenses have been focusing on him since his freshman year. He is learning the intracacies of the WR position, and is a team leader.

Also, he's scored 3 TDs at the halfway point of the year, and will score more. And don't you think Randle and Toliver have been frusterated about not getting more touches? The ability of our WRs to get YAC cannot be described. See Toliver tonight

i would much rather see shepard in the running qb position.. still.. even if the defense knows he's gonna do nothing but run..

i hope Lee is the man here on out and shep gets utilized more.

actually in a way. you are right. even if you are being sarcastic as frick.

when jefferson is qb-ing.. it's 3 and out well over half the time it seems.. therefore we aren't doing jack shite.. when lee is the qb the offense actually progresses.. leading to a number of different guys getting the ball..

when lee came in last week it was such a pleasure to know we actually do have 5 star talent all over the field.. i swear i never would have known it with jefferson running the show.. and most college football fans looking in from the outside all assume we suck as well bc of it.. yet little known secret is our offense is as talented as anyone.

Everytime he gets the ball the defense is already on him or in the back field. It's the play calling/telegraphing.

We had 2 3 and outs this week. 1 when JJ was in the game (No pass plays called). 1 when Lee was in the game (Completed a short dump off pass on a 3rd and long).

I agree with your 2nd point. Lee does a better job getting the ball to the WRs. But my point was that people want so many different players to get more touches it's unrealistic.

i know i understand your point. i just would still like to see shepard involved differently at times. i hate that he'll get 2 plays and not do anything and it seems like they never go back to him.. but again only one ball to go around.

also tho like someone said.. he is the ultimate team player. his time will come.. and he should be here till he is a senior as well.

Or maybe he needs to get better.......

He is still only a soph., but needs a lot of work to do to become a quality receiver. Should he play QB on some plays? Yes, but it's all about the team right now & we keep winning...

Wasn't it Wrights fault? He didn't know where to line up and he was the key player in making the play work.

I'm sry but I disagree with trying to get RS touches tonight. It is very hard to outrun Florida to the sidelines. The only way I would use him against Florida tonight would be wildcat or wr middle screens. but he could not get the corner today.

yeah, they matchup speed really well with him, but he needs to be our running qb, it utilizes his talents the best and we already run the spread option with the wrong QB...JJ....should be shep...then let his arse throw...
