The difference is that Harvin was also used as a decoy to open up the rest of the offense. The coaches haven't figured out how to use Shepard as a decoy yet.

Along the same line of thinking, another big gripe I have with Crowton is his inability to create mismatches in the secondary. We have two WR 6'4'' and over and a slot receiver with more agility than anyone else in the league. Yet, Crowton is so damn focused on misdirection that he never attempts to create mismatches down the field. There isn't a LB in the SEC (and probably no SS as well) that can cover Shepard. But we never call routes to expose this mismatch.

Mitch Joseph has a done a great job, but when DeAngelo gets back, we are a potential nightmare for match-ups in the secondary, because they aren't many LBs that can cover him either.

This sounds about right.

In fact, they make it quite obvious when Shepard will run with the ball, like when he lines up at WR, goes in motion and then lines up in the RB position

and yet, he's scored twice on it and broke others for 15+ yards

Id like to see RS get some option looks at qb, which would set up a great option play fake pass later in a game.

against a disqualified defense in UNC and Vandy...

I think he was talking about Sheps overall career, and you can't argue against that. So far, it seems like Crowton and Miles are trying to utilize Shep, but I don't think it's enough.

Shep is leading the team in scoring with 3 touchdowns on 16 touches. Which means he scores a touchdown every 5.33 touches. Sounds pretty good to me. I would give him the damn ball.

By comparison Ridley has 38 touches and 1 touchdown.

Makes no sense! Ridley had one TD called back for a phantom holding call. He had his paydirt given away in the last game. Helped drive the team all the way to the 5 then its given to Blue for an easy run. Should have been Stevans.

Well thats easy enough. Give him the ball 40 times in one game and that should be 8 touchdowns.

All that aside, Ridley and Shep should get all the carries unless the game is out of hand.

Shep 9.5 YPC
Ridley 6.7 YPC

He really needs to get some PT at QB. a few plays here and there...

If he does, he may be able to compete for the starting spot next year, and he could be lights out if he stays for a senior season.

the great think about RS is if a play breaks down or no one is open, hes a threat to take it to the house. VIck was the last guy we saw who could run like that.

He's also showed that his hands are inconsistent. If he were lined up at wide out for UNC versus us he would have dropped atleast 3 or 4 of those quick slants. How do I know? He's dropped even easier passes.

You think we're the only team with 6'4 wide recievers? RS is great, but he's not even in the discussion for most agile player in the NCAA.
