I must have missed the announcement that RS was no longer the #2 WR that seemed like a solid announcment. Link to 4th?

Man, I really want to see Russell Shepard succeed. He's been such a great character guy in every interview I've seen him in. He hasn't gotten down on the coaches or the team with his limited role considering his pre-LSU hype. Just patiently waiting for his chance to contribute. I hope this year is a turning point for him in his career.

the "Drive Time Sports" callers of TD. seriously, they would be at home. "messy-co" chiquito ads, Jimmy Lee, etc...perfect fit.

basically miles plays the role of mr mom and acts crazy and speaks in tounges so the media lays off his players. nothing about how great a football coach he is, Xs and Os, etc

all for the bargin basement price of 4M

took you long enough

btw...they asked RS about the public perception of Miles....not about his coaching ability. Reading is fundamental.

Did you see his other quote in the Sporting News about scandals in college football? He explained how he's thankful for the scholarship he receives, very well spoken. Proud he's a Tiger and represents us so well.

how much to sign miles til the end of time? i'd rather hear players say that after a 10 or 11 win season on a consistent basis than have them hoist the crystal ball once a decade.

i think miles' integrity is his most underrated quality.

Links to both articles:

Shep on the team in general (mostly offense)

Shep on Les

interesting bit from the 1st link:

quote:

He has an aggressive mindset when it comes to calling plays. And that’s something we need with the talent we had. Last year, I had 30-35 catches (he finished with 33). I’d say 29 of those were bubble screens. Four or five were 10 yards or more. We have to be able to stretch the ball downfield and play consistent football. Those are the things he stresses.

This quote stood out most for me:

quote:

[Question:] What does it take to get over the top, to finish first or second at the end instead of, say, going to the Cotton Bowl again?

quote:

[Shepard:] Last year, we had seven or eight different formations, with three different personnels per formation, which is too much. We’ve got a great OC now. It’s real simplified, real basic.

ask the "drive man" his thoughts about wanting to keep the zoo animals on the field and off the sideline. He's a real intellectual.
