obviously, the entire recruiting system has hits/misses, but it defies logic to think that we have an unusual accumulation of guys that were simply overrated coming out of high school. clearly lots of people recognized these kids' talent and ability in high school, so you can only conclude we're failing to either coach 'em up or run a system that maximizes their talent.

Especially seeing many players we were heavily recruiting and then lost doing amazing at their respective schools:
Dez Bryant at OSU
Darron Thomas at Oregon

Just two examples.

eta: thanks for the correction for Deuce

I think LSU did RS no favors at WR.. He should be given a chance to play QB. His running skills will buy him time to throw the football in my opinion.

DC Jefferson is at Rutgers and isn't even playing...

You mean Darron Thomas.

The LSU fanbase has now officially gone insane.

This is why we are Fans and isn't that the definition of a Fan is someone that is insanely or fanatical or possessed with or motivated by excessive, irrational zeal for a certain person or team. So yes, I would agree with you this board has gone insane.

Those WR screens to Shep have potential for big yardage but LM and GC designed that play to be a big fail. When JL hits shep on the screen he is usually the entire width of the field away. That's a 15-22 yard pass sideways. First off we should be throwing those passes forward for positive yardage. second of all if you're going to throw a screen to one of the most elusive players on your team, make it short and quick so he has room to run. They have to shorten up those splits if they want that screen play to work. Fact

I totally agree that Shepp was a wasted talent as a QB, this even hurts more when we don't have a decent QB play!

Yeah we should bench shep and find someone who will run the same 3 plays over and over

Miles has to give him the ball first.

And it would help if Shep would remember when he was supposed to be in the game and where to line up. Re: LSU 2pt conversion vs UF where James Wright was where Shep was supposed to be but he was too busy celebrating the "victory" and also having to be shoved on the field for the 4th & 6 against Auburn.

Nailed it. We haven't been able to get him the ball in space where he's dangerous.
I feel bad for him because he's vastly underutilized yet still he's the one who has to answer to the offense's woes every week. He told me it would be good to take his mind off of football this weekend and I can't blame him. I look for him to get the ball more against Bama.

Most annoying new saying in football. WTF does "IN SPACE" mean? Who the hell isnt at their best when no one is around to tackle them? Was it Herby that started that dumb shite?

I wish the kid all the luck and success in the world.

I've just grown tired of hearing about our superior talent level and having to watch the crap on the field week after week!

He's definitely not the only one not living up to the expectations I've read about on the rant!

His talents are wasted at LSU. Anyone saying otherwise is a blubbering idiot. He would have been better off going somewhere else.

it all starts with the QB. you have a starting qb that havent thrown a TD pass in over 7 games, what do you want RS to do as receiver?

So the best use of Shep is at receiver?

Don't you know that every 5-star that busts or isn't an instant impact is entirely due to overhyping?

There is no way it can be on coaching. These guys are great at what they do or otherwise they wouldn't be good enough to get someone to pay them $4 million a year like ND with Weiss.

Crowton doesn't have a CLUE how to use him or any of our players.

Simply means getting a guy the ball without having a defender's arms already around him. Part of this is WR blocking on those screens we try, which has been less than stellar thus far. Your point is well-taken my man
