Do you have any input or did you just want to post those stats?

Agree thought I was the only one who noticed we didn’t run worth a damn. But not sure if it’s a concern yet.

To be fair, we didn’t hardly run the ball at all in the first half, and when we did it was usually during 2nd/3rd and short situations.

The majority of the carries came towards the back end of the game when we had primarily backups in on the line.

Did you also realize we ran the same running play almost every time and CEH actually had 9 carries for 45 yards? Which is 5 per carry? All we did was a simple zone or a read handoff lol. Damn near perfect game but please find a way to complain.

LSU is a smash mouth football team with physical runners. Always have been. I think the coaches saw an opportunity to play with a new toy last night, and it was fun. I expect a lot more running against Texas this weekend to establish time of possession.

You people are fricking nuts. We scored over 50 points in a game. Our quarterback threw 5 touchdowns.

Our running game looked great, we just had production coming from other parts of the offense. I swear some of you people make LSU fans look like fricking idiots.

Less carries, more passes to RBs. Yards per carry don’t matter as much when you’re substituting 7-8 yard catches out of the backfield instead.

Big stats guy, huh?

Talk to me about all the screen plays we ran (extension of the running game).

Relax. This is a message board where people discuss things. LSU's run gameplan against GSU is a worthy discussion. It's not inherently a knock against the team's play.

With those stats we had a total of 9.9 less yards on 33 carries. I’m just devastated.

In spread offenses, particularly in the type the Saints run - and now LSU - passes to RBs out of the backfield are considered an extension of the running game. The idea is to give the defense more things to think about. Defenses will have to keep a CB or LB on the RB, potentially opening up room for a WR or TE, otherwise, you get a check down pass. We saw this several times last night.

But how many more passing yards? We threw the ball very well last night. AND - *gasp* receivers caught the ball! It was really fun watching this entire team last night.
