I want to see less mixes of coverage so our DB's are already on the same page and Battle sit more than helmet on and Stevens play the safety position and be there to help stop the run ...

imho

Shouldn't be too hard. We need to start game planning for Alabama! They have a bye this week and next week.

Play the team on the field with you... NEVER look ahead. If we do, Bama can beat us and not even step foot in Louisiana.

I normally dont pay much attention to the talking heads because they are just ratings hypers but sometimes they do blast out some good information.

Go to 3:30 mark

"The last 6 times that Miss St has played a top 10 opponent, Those opponents have run for an average of 200ypg against them"

If LSU runs for 200 yards this game is over by the start of the 4th quarter based on Miss State's down field coverage and LSU recently being able to stretch the field.

I know Aranda doesn’t like to do this. He likes to play as balanced as possible, but I wanna see LSU just go straight man to man on the outside for the majority of the game and sell out to stop the run. Fitzgerald is not beating LSU with his arm. Don’t let him beat you with his legs.

This aspect about this weekend has me the most nervous about state. They are not a pass happy offense. They have to run the ball. Yes they are one dimensional but that isn’t the strong suit of our defense. Probably a great test before bama.

Our Run Defense against state makes me very uneasy

This Mississippi State team ran for 349 yards against Auburn. 349!!!

I think most teams try to sell out and stop the run, but it's very hard.

With that being said, the #1 defense against the run is to put points on the scoreboard and control the Time of Possession!

We know this: as long as the game is close, State will not abandon the run. LSU has to put points on the board, preferably TDs.

Get the lead to double digits, and State will feel the need to pass. That will play into our hands defensively.

Auburn has a very good front 7. whatever their defense did scheme wise against State is what we shouldn't do. that game should give Aranda enough to info. to game plan this week.

also, fitzgerald is an inconsistent passer but he has some pretty good streaks where he is accurate.
