I didn't want to say it outright, but...
I heard from her firsthand about how playing piccolo too much "messes up your embouchure" and all that. Tiger Band probably took away valuable practice time too.

For everyone complaining about the GOFUND page, how is it any different than Hokie Gajan supporters setting up a fund for him. Gajan had a NFL career with a pension and worked for Saints for a long time, he couldn't have been that desperate either.

Also, what if he didn't get screwed and he is just getting what he had coming to him for years? That's certainly not the same as having cancer.

When I came in on the band scholarship in 2008 it was specifically for out of state non-music majors to be in Tiger Band and then a concert band. I never tried to do anything but Roy band so I'm not sure what would've happened if I made it to a higher band.
