Don't judge him from his tv show!
I remember years ago not liking Rome when I first started listening, but he grows on you and is witty as hell!
exactly. the entire radio show is a giant inside joke loaded with references. you have to give it at least 3 weeks to start picking up on what everyone is talking about

I find his radio show a million times better than the TV show. It's just better. I'm not a big fan of Rome himself but, I find his show entertaining.
Regarding LSU, yes, Rome likes to be in bed with a winner so, as long as LSU is one of the premiere programs and continues to win big games, he'll give them plenty love. He has also mentioned many times before that Miles has big nuts in so many words.

I used to love listening to Rome but some of his stuff did get a little old. The bowling, soccer, softball rants were funny but repetitive. It's always interesting to hear what he has to say about a big sports event or topic. He has softened considerably in the last five years or so but thats not necessarily a bad thing.
To the guy who said he "has a four hour show but talks for two," I get your point that he pauses in between thoughts sometimes, but get your facts straight. He has a three hour show, number one. Second, every radio host only actually talks for about 65 to 75 percent of the time due to commercials.

Well, comments like that can only help recruiting! And we all know that that's what makes programs great...along with great coaching....and we have both....just keep talking up LSU on national radio and TV all they want...

The point is that Rome can't/won't string his thoughts together. 65-75% for most = 35% for Rome
/exaggeration to make a point

I think Rome can be pretty funny. Sure, he's abrasive and arrogant but he tells it like it is and doesn't just throw around stuff to piss off a given fanbase on purpose like Cowherd does.
And Rome was the ONLY ESPN person to go on the air and say that Les was right about his comments of the Pac 10 and USC last year once we won the NC. I don't know how some here forget that but he was the only one to agree at the end of the year.

Both have their faults, but Cowherd > Rome
except for Cowherd's ratings share crap he does

I'm okay w/ him for the most part, but he was being a punk for that Chris Everett stuff. I wonder if he would have been that much of an arse if he didn’t know that there’d be someone on the set to keep Jim Everett from beating him unconscious.

the emails are good. the callers who call in and try to sound exactly like rome are the worst part of the show. do these dudes realize how dumb they sound reading off a piece of paper?
