nah...i doubt it. these athletes are used to playing on this as they've done it many times (at least most of them).
i played college ball and we used to have to sometimes play on astro turf. it didn't affect us that much. in fact, without the "lip" or the "dirt" causing a bad hop, it was actually better.

Yeah, same here. I played at LA Tech for 2 years. Turf fields were OK, but I hated sliding on them. I am sure the technology is much better now. I was an outfielder so not really worried about the hops!
