They were disappointed they didn't go to the title game that year.

you only get x tickets, you dont get the opportunity to sellout the whole place. arkansas will sellout their allotment asap. ohio state will as well. they both will bring lots of people and sell hotel rooms. its a dream matchup for the sugar bowl.

arguing against this is pretty silly

The ticket argument is stupid. LSU would sell out just as quickly as Arky. The hotel issue is your only ground from an economic standpoint.

C on Z, I think you get my point. The NC game was in NOLA. It's a better money maker for the Sugar Bowl if Arky goes.

People aren't going to be excited here about playing tOSU again. Arky fans will be more excited to just be there than LSU fans will be to play tOSU.

more idiocy. do any of you really think lsu would sell a single ticket more than arkansas to the sugar bowl? u think we would sell half the hotel rooms? come on.

Don't really want to see LSU/tOSU part II. But on the revenue merits, LSU is more attractive.

Per Arky's former SID (in the last week) Arkansas would buy no more than 20k tickets (which would be a little more than their allotment) and in his opinion (and I agree) LSU would buy at least 40k (considering the location). So...

20k x $150 avg price= $3,000,000
40k x $150 avg price= $6,000,000

Bowl revenue difference $3,000,000
If Arky takes 10k hotel rooms at $150/nt = $1,500,000
If LSU takes ZERO = $0.

Even if you include food, the whole "tourism" aspect doesn't add up for Arky to be more attractive. Even if I'm overestimating the LSU ticket sales...I'm underestimating the LSU hotel sales (0).

If the Sugar Bowl chooses them (which they probably should) then so be it...but it won't be for $$ reasons.

my point with the tickets was that ark and lsu would both sellout. ark will sell hotels so ark is a better play. plus ark has a higher bcs ranking and beat us.

there isnt a logical reason for the sugar to take us.

an argument could be made about the orange i suppose since lsu would travell more people to miami, but they wont get a shot at taking an sec team this year.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I just think that continuously bringing up 'Arky would sell out in an hour' as a reason for them going over LSU is not a good point. Hotels, yes. Beating us on the field, yes. Ticket sales, no.

again, that was only to counter the argument that LSU would sell more tickets than Arky. while we could sell more, we would both sellout. which is all that really matters.
