Sitting in the lobby back at the hotel. The team is eating and will shortly leave for the airport. Here are a few reflections on this weekend.
1. To state the obvious, the turnovers and breakdowns on D killed us in the second half of the first game. However, lack of effort is not the issue. We were sitting 10 feet behind the bench, and I can assure you they were putting in the effort. Utah State is huge, but we are much more athletic.
2. Today was a complete turnaround. They beat Rhode Island which had an excellent point guard and were very quick.
3. Emmitt is a warrior inside.
4. Manning and Bishop are contributing more and more.
5. We got to watch practice for a little while and Wade’s philosophy is repetition, repetition, repetition of basic concepts.
6. We have some quality young men. We saw them around the resort and watched the Arkansas game at a facility on site. They were perfect gentlemen and very polite to everyone.
7. This will just be a different team without a rim protector and a true point guard, but it can be an excellent team nevertheless.
8. Had a good conversation with coach in the lobby before the game. He was very gracious to all the Tiger fans that made the trip.
9.Food award this week goes to the sweet shop at the Hyatt Ziva. Just ridiculously good stuff- and all low calorie!
Geaux Tigers.

People are panicking way too early. I see this team as a Tourney team with a chance to make some noise and next year should be a legit top 15 team. Wade will get the turnovers down and when that happens they can compete with nearly anyone.

If you didn't offer to be the bag man/go between for Coach, then you aren't a true tiger.

On a serious note, nice post.

One item I forgot to include: the basketball players that were near us watching the football game went nuts when Clyde made the long TD run along the sideline. He seemed to really have their respect. (Join the club).
