Sorry, I think our players deserve more. Like a coach who can manage a game.
So you'll agree with the part of the quote where he appears to be critical of Miles & Co., but you'll gloss over and refuse to accept the part about where he gave Miles credit?

Is there a link to where this quote came from?

I didn't have a problem with the 2 fades. We had a 6'5" receiver on a sub 6' CB. That was our main advantage. Problem was, AS ALWAYS, JJ had immediate pressure and had to rush the pass some.
Does anyone, truly believe that if we run Ridley there, behind this OL, that we pick up the 2. I don't.
1st and 10 at the 32, totally different situation. Your in FG range, so regardless if you pick up another yard, your still in FG range. The only thing you can't have happen is exactly what happened. That's somewhat on Crowton. But, if they did indeed call for a quick pass and JJ held the ball because he was scared, then it falls on the QB as well. You have to know the situation and while Miles tried to take the heat, a QB who has started all year should have the sense to not take a sack there.
Still GC could have saved that by doing the smart thing and simply running the ball.

What part of "captain of the ship" do you guys not understand? Miles is the head coach. He is the person responsible. Every play call is made in his ear. Anyone who continues to blame this mess on Crowton is being deliberately obtuse or delusional. The only coach in America with that excuse is senile Bowden. Miles is responsible. Get it through your stupid heads.

quote:
"I was expecting to run the ball a little bit and put us a little closer to field goal range," tailback Stevan Ridley said. "That didn't happen. They also didn't call a run on the 2-point conversion (with LSU down 25-23 moments before recovering an onside kick). We're down on the goal line and need 2, and we decide (laughing) to throw two fades in a row? But I mean that's the game. That's not what coach Crowton wanted to call. That's out of my control."
Right on the Money!!! He should get more playing time for saying this. When was the last time LSU didn't pass for an incomplete on a 2 point conversion attempt of any significance dating back to the 07 loss to Arkansas. Also run the damn ball kick a field goal game over. Glad someone on the team said that. That was complete bullshite.

Wasn't the 2 pt conversion less than two after the penalty? Could Sheppard not make it? Yes.

You're glad that he said what you were thinking. But, if you were "thinking" now, you'd realize that Ridley shouldn't have let these comments slip to the media.

CV,
i was screaming for shep to come in the whole time before the first throw. Then, to everyone amazement, they try the same play again.
The coaching staff believes in doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results.
Safe to say they are insane.

That's not what coach Crowton wanted to call.
makes you wonder if Miles is the problem all the way around

The interview came off something like this. "Stevan, do you think you could have scored on the 2 points conversion or were you afraid you couldnt do it?"
"I could have got it and I wanted the ball"
"Why didnt they give you the ball?"
etc etc, bullshite

The most telling quote from Ridley was:
LINK
If comments like that are making to the press, that means they must be rampant in the locker room. Miles will destroy the program before it's over with. You cannot put the toothpaste back into the tube. He should resign. But he won't, because "Mr. Integrity" is more interested in cashing in his LSU "super sized" paycheck, which no other university will ever give him again after this debacle.
quote:
"For us not to win that game is really just kind of shocking," Ridley said. "We had that many things go the way we wanted them to (the 25-yard touchdown pass to Rueben Randle with 1:17 to play, the onside kick recovery and the 43-yard Hail Mary to Toliver), and we still lose. I mean to be left with a second left and not have a play called is just really something that we can't let happen again. We were unprepared for the situations that came up."

BTW, Stevan is VERY upset about losing the game. No one saw him yuckin it up with the Ole Miss team after the game. He is a winner and loves LSU and coach Miles. Stevan is one great kid.

Oh, it's obvious to me that the questions were probably posed to elicit a very explicit response. Still, it's never a good thing (as many are asserting) to have a player call out the coaches in the media, especially in CFB, even if the player is correct and even if the player was asked pointed questions.

Shepard has been underutilized all year, so there was no way that they would be smart enough to use him now.
Here's a guy who has been a QB in H.S., practiced at QB all spring, yet these coaches aren't smart enough to let him throw a pass.
Yet, Mccluster burns us with a pass.
For the last 2 years our offensive philosophy has left most fans with more ?'s on their face than Les the Riddler.

Miles has been pissing on our leg and telling us its raining all season and last. Props for Riddley and Hitt for calling it piss. Do you people really think things will get better if we keep pretending nothing is wrong?

Exactly.
I still think there's a possibility that the coaches punish ridley for his comments and take fords redshirt off.
That would be a monumental frick up
Did your coach punish players for questioning him?
Awaiting your response!
