Is Kayshon the first player to earn the #7 in their junior year and come back?

I think he is, but I’ll hang up and listen.

Since #7 officially became a thing, kinda. Peterson gave the number to Mathieu. Mathieu would have returned in 2012 but obviously was kicked off the team. Then no one wore #7 in 2012-2013. Fournette then had it for 3 years while he was at LSU. Since Fournette, no, there hasn't been anyone wear #7 two straight seasons.

2008-10 Peterson
2011 Mathieu
2012-13 No one
2014-16 Fournette
2017 Chark
2018 Giles (for half the season)
2019 Delpit
2020 Chase (opted out of the season)
2021 Stingley
2022 Boutte

#7 was elite for a while so those guys went pro.

Then Giles put a huge dent in it and DSJ sat #7 out

I’d go back to #1 if I was KB.

So Chark is the only one to be significantly better his last year here. Peterson already great, Mathieu kicked off. I think this tradition should go away, give it to a freshman was better
