Welcome to those who have made it so far! The weather is a bit un-SoCal-like but that should clear up in a day or two. The cooler temps are nice tho.

Dodger v. Braves tickets for tonight are pretty cheap on the Gametime app for those looking for something to do. Buehler v. Morton tonight and Scherzer v. Freid tomorrow.

Enjoy fellas!

Agree. I've always laughed at B10 fans who always claimed their academics were superior, when their athletes are just there to play ball.

Yeah..

shite, Stanford is uber academic, and they've won far more than UCLA lately. But again, most of these athletes don't meet the schools minimum standards for students.

43 football players made Honor Roll. At the #1 Public University in America (yes, higher rated than Berkeley or Michigan).

Asked in another thread but, since there's a UCLA guy in here, is it worth staying in Downtown LA close to the JW Marriott?

I feel like staying downtown sounds like more trouble than it is worth

This. I live 2.5 miles from DT and rarely ever go down there. Lot's of nice places once you get up in the highrises but ground level is too sketch.

heatwave game vs. Hawaii

I arrived in LA the day before the game so I was running around LA that Saturday.
There was NO heat wave that day compared to Louisiana heat. In fact it felt refreshing.

I guess that's meant as a preemptive rationale to take some of the sting out of the asswhipping they're about to receive but, with a few exceptions scholarship athletes don't take "normal" curriculum courses while they have eligibility remaining

They have tutors. Like they do at all schools to keep athletes from failing.
