Remember when we heard in summer camp that the defense was way ahead of the offense?

After the Clemson game, I thought perhaps we had the best defensive roster since 2011. I was convinced that the offensive line was below average, but would still be serviceable.
As the season draws to a close, this defense did stack up to be a very talented and stout unit that was tough sledding for every opponent. I genuinely think something happened during the A&M game where BK lost the team and the players quit.
But the offensive line and scheme was in all actuality one of the worst I have seen, maybe ever at the college level. And that’s sad considering BK I thought was someone who got the most out of his QBs.
This was akin to the Bengals getting blasted for drafting skill guys but not building a dominant and deep OL. Joe Burrow, Garrett Nussmeier, or even Tom Brady would not have a good showing if week in and week out they are running for their lives, getting pancaked by defensive ends, and flat on their backs after only 3-5 seconds almost every down.

BK is not a terrible offensive guy but it’s clear he checked out and just left it up to Joe Sloan. Joe Sloan had no idea what the frick he was doing.

Our defense was not tough sledding for our losses against Ole Miss, Vandy, A&M, or Bama
The only top 50 scoring offense we beat was soon to be 0-8 Arkansas, and that 2-point victory was arguably only because they are the worst defense in the SEC by a mile
This defense failed really all of its significant tests. It only looked close to elite against trash. Middle of the pack in conference at best if you're being genuine

LSU held Ole Miss to 24 points, only ONE other team held them under 30 points.
LSU held Bama to its 3rd lowest point totals all year despite only scoring 9 points itself.
LSU was literally without 2 of the 3 players we needed the most vs Vandy. We win the game if Whit Weeks and Bernard Gooden play that game. At that point Vandy was heavily relying on their TEs and RBs for their passing game. Vandy's top 3 WRs account for 1490 yards and 15 TDs. They had 3 catches for 46 yards COMBINED vs LSU.
I think LSU collapsed in the 2nd half vs TAMU. I have no idea WTF that was.

Leading with Ole Miss is really stupid. If not for 100 yards of penalties they beat us by 3 scores. That’s like Auburn hanging their hat on being closest to LSU in 2019 when anyone watching that game knows that their defense got their arse handed to them everywhere but the scoreboard
Bama hasn’t been a great offense all year
It’s cute that we held Vandy receivers like that. If only we didn’t give up almost 250 on the ground. It’s almost like that staff knew we couldn’t stop a mobile QB and built a game plan around it and succeeded
TAMU needs no introduction. 2nd straight year completely embarrassed in the 2nd half. This time with no surprises, and at home
A horrible offense on the other side doesn’t make a mediocre defense any less mediocre
