It’s all potential. He’s a manimal sometimes and sometimes he doesn’t play well. He’s 18. That’s going to happen. He has an NBA body no doubt
He has yet to make an inside move and convert. Yes, potential is there, but there is a big time difference in pay the later he is picked. mid/Late first round vs top 8 or so is an astronomical amount of money.
Anyone watching him play can see he needs another year in college.

There are some situations where a player just has to go - like when Stromile Swift and Tyrus Thomas were projected to go 2nd in their prospective drafts.
Another situation is if the player is not going to get any better but he thinks he'll be in the NBA as a journeyman player for years and wants to start making money now (that scenario is still questionable).
Where one should not go is when (a) getting drafted by the NBA is not a sure thing, or (b) the player has a lot of potential but is projecting at best in the 2nd round but could be a lottery pick in a year if he works and progresses.
Naz falls under (b). It's really in his interest at this point to consider coming back one more year.

He has great potential but I think he would benefit greatly from staying at least one more year. Also, by coming back, his chances of being drafted really high would be great. He needs to polish his post game/moves.

It’s like Jordy Culotta said on W&W with Mascona...Reid played up against 2 NBA players today and they ate his lunch. I think he goes pro but he could definitely use some more development.

After the Kentucky game I was arguing with people cause a bunch of people thought he is a guaranteed first round pick. That’s just not true. As has been shown in this thread, most mock drafts have him as a second round pick, and not even really close to the first round.

Totally agree, his post game skills are very unrefined and if he stayed and got all of his game better, the guy could possibly be a top ten pick. I really like his attitude right now, he showed a lot of maturity today.

Best post I've seen today.

I think he could stand to be polished up and raise his draft stock.
But I doubt it and wouldn’t blame him.

He won’t be a lottery pick like once projected. A few weeks ago he wasn’t even listed as a first round pick but was someone to watch for moving up the draft boards depending on how he developed through the season. Today didn’t help.
