see, i don't buy this as much... once you're past "driving distance" it's all the same.

do you think there would have been more uva fans if yall came to BR? both are flying destinations...

I was in Oxford last night, have a wedding in Memphis tonight so I thought why not, and I will ban myself for a week if there were only 8500 people at that game.

Probably not.

I guess my point was that the opening game for the LSU regional was versus Southern; an in-city game. Of course there's going to be a humongous turnout relative to the SDSU/Virginia game. It's an apples to oranges comparison.

Not taking anything away from the huge turnout for LSU. The fans here definitely love their baseball.

i'll buy this. it would be close. SU doesn't bring that many people. probably the same amount of "traveling" uva fans. would have been at least 7750-8250

i watched that game on tv and their "grand stand" might be as big as our home run bleachers. they just have a small stadium.
