I think there's a really good possibility that Joe may have changed the paradigm for LSU QBs for the next decade-plus. That type of thing can be a legitimate program changer.
Correct. No more athletic "Glorified Running Back" type QB's at LSU that can't hit the broad side of a barn throwing a football, can't read defenses, can't go through progressions and can't make quick decisions...…..

I think you have to go all the way back to Hodson to find a LSU QB with that many big moments and that type of gritty play.

Hodson was great, but the only way he has as many big moments as Burrow is if you count all four of Hodson’s years - and even then it would fall short.

As far as gritty goes, there have been a few. Herb Tyler is one.

Hodson was great, but

Not going to diminish what Joe did, most awesome performance for a season by far, I have seen. I go back to the Stovall playing days.

Times and schemes have changed, but give Hodson two more receivers like Wendell Davis, for one season, and an OC like Ensminger/Brady and he would have set records that would have lasted until Burrow.
Wendell Davis was awesome, the same as Jefferson, Chase, and Marshall.
Hodson had the same toughness as Burrow. In a game vs Kentucky, his tongue was split when being tackled. He went to the dressing room, had stitches, came back into the game and led us to victory.
I'm so happy that I was privileged to watch both in purple and gold.
