Agree...it was a night game and I recall the score being even worse...like 45-7. But us old geezers have foggy memories.
I just recall leaving that game with LSU 2-0 looking even more dominating than the 82 team who barely lost to Nebraska in the Orange Bowl. Then something went dreadfully wrong and we finished the year 4-7 and last in the SEC. Our AD, "Bottom Line Bob" Brodhead fired Coach Stovall with him looking over his shoulder all year because of dreadful very public remarks from Brodhead. He was one very mean spirited AD SOB who wanted to clean house of the good Ol boy LSU network and bring in his own. But then proceeded to make 2 of the best coaching hires ever at LSU...Bill Arnsbarger came as the DC at the Miami Dolphins, and Skip Bertman, from the Miami Hurricanes. And at least for Baseball...sustained domination.
So while I hated Bottom Line Bobs disrespectful methods, he did pick winners.

LSUSports.net says you are wrong.
7:30 PM start time, according to the archived schedule/results page.

I was there and it was definitely a night game aired on Tigervision. UW was number 9 and had highly regarded Steve Pelleur at QB, brother of Saints LB Scott. Beat them 40-14.

One large question remains about this game. How much wool was pulled afterward?

My very first game in TS. Look like 1983 would be a great season like 82. Not so much.

I'm positive it was a day game. I had tickets from the Manship family ( BR Advocate) Best seats I ever had in Tiger stadium.
It was most certainly a night game, the one before it vs Fla State was a day game.... UW was a night game....no question about it.
