You actually think Purdue has the speed to catch a guy who probably runs a 4.4 from behind in the open field? Did you not watch him this season when he'd run laterally to sidelines? Defenses had clear angles on him and he'd still torch them to the sidelines. He looked like he was running with bricks on his feet in the Purdue game when he ran laterally.

His ankle was clearly still bothering him. He also played hurt in TAMU game. Twice. Clearly he didn't think it was a meaningless game.

So BK played his injured starting QB in a meaningless game, up by 40 points, while having a capable back up...

If he was injured (enough to notice) he wouldn't have played at all

Sure, why not? He was probably playing at 90%. He played him in TAMU and Georgia's game when he was clearly hurt much worse. He got hurt twice in TAMU game and 1 of them looked like a major injury. Maybe it was JD's decision and then they forcefully put him on the bench.

If he's medical cleared you play him which obviously he was. Football injuries happen every game. Doesn't mean they're playing at 100%.

JD had almost 3000 passing yards almost 900 rushing yards with 28 total touchdowns three interceptions. He completed 69% of his passes, directed us to only our 2nd win over Bama in 11 yrs, our 2nd wast title since 2011, and was the team most valuable player.

Nuss had almost as many interceptions as he did touchdowns and did nothing to win any game. There is absolutely no good reason for there to be a two quarterback system but for the wishful thinking of some. imo

You'd lose a lot of close games with Nuss if you're turning the ball over every 10 touches or so.

The turnover mistakes could get better with more in-game experience. Kid has extremely high ceiling after he improves upon that.

He did it at Notre Dame with Rees and his other starter and it worked pretty well for match-up purposes

LSU is #9 in FEI rankings so I'd say yes, he runs an efficient offense.

It jumped significantly from purdue. I just showed the per play stats(efficiency) with 1 regular season game remaining and they were no where near efficient unless being ranked in the bottom half of cfb teams is good enough for you.
We had 6 games under the average yards per play of all cfb teams. Before the bowl game we were 60th in points per play. None of those number screams efficient.

You do realize that Jayden Daniels was pretty much our entire offense, right?

Yeah because of Jayden daniels' refusal to test defenses even on intermediate passes let alone deep passes.
You really think our deep and talented wrs just couldn't get open even against pass defenses that were atrocious?

And that if Nuss started this season we would have had zero running game?

Dbs and safeties were allowed to keep their eyes on our backfield all year because Jayden was never gonna test them deep. We literally have video of Coach Kelly acreaming..."it's 1 on 1 throw the fricking ball".

Jayden should be our starter heading into next year but if we want to actually challenge for a playoff spot he has to be more consistent in passing the ball. Run first qbs dont win titles anymore.
