Please tell me of any football team that has given up 40 points a game defensively, but scored 50 points offensively and has won a championship! It doesn't happen!

That’s moving the goalposts on the claim that defense wins championships. Is 63-28 and 42-25 winning with offense or defense?

That D was holding top 5 teams to half their offensive output at the end of the season. People can’t seem to separate the portion of the season when that D was healthy from when they were in shambles health wise or when Orgeron was meddling in the D from after he let Aranda do his thing.

Yes, the defense definitely played much better than the 28 and 25 points allowed in the CFP would suggest, but the performance would not have been enough without an elite offense. That elite offense carried them earlier in the season when the defense was hurt and struggling. LSU 100% won that title on offense.

I would have expected shitty defense if we had ended up with Riley.

Portal has not been our friend on this side of the ball. Time to start paying for top recruits like A&M , TX,UGA etc..

Our DB's are the weakest & thinnest position on the team. Nothing this season is going to suddenly make them better. All the more reason the D-line has to step up pressure, or House is going to have to dial up blitz, blitz, blitz! Sure, we may get burned on occasion, but does that matter considering what has happened game to game??
