Well done, pdxlsufan. You have successfully trolled the rant, myself included. With those ridiculous posts, you've nearly pushed a troll-thread to 10 pages. Good show.

Didn't ESPN or SI have a write up last year ranking college football programs all time? LSU ranked at like #9 all time I believe. I don't remember all the specifics, but I remember being impressed with where LSU ranked. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I know Jimmy Ott was talking about it a lot one week last season.

Was Jimmy Ott shocked or did he agree? Also, a link would be awesome.

Do me a favor. Bite my arse.

He asked to me to compare Florida and Bama to Oklahoma and Ohio State, you douchebag.

Ott agreed..... I don't have a link, that's why I asked the question

Jimmy Ott has no business attempting to cover LSU Football. He needs to go back to the car dealership or pocorella's.

People forget that UF was a dormat before 1992
Posted on 10/25/10 at 10:25 pm to pdxlsufan
There is one way to shut pdxlsufan and all the naysayers up. That is by winning championships in the form of West and SEC to start with. Win championships and nobody can tell LSU shite. The most effective way to make yourself competitive is by having effective leadership in the program. Either an SEC team has it or it does not. Unfortunately we have a 2nd tier coach. Change the leadership and win championships and shut everybody up.

Since Miles has been here we have witnessed a decline. We did not really have any business hiring him if we planned to stay competitive. 100% agreement. We will be a 2nd tier team as long as Miles is here. With the right coach and a good hire we can have another 6 or 7 year run like we just had. LSU has never been elite and never will be till we hire an elite coach. Meyer (pre-meltdown) Saban, Spurrier (Florida days) etc. are elite coaches Miles is not.
Miles, love him or hate him is the most controversial Football Coach in college football right now & certainly in LSU history. Some schools would know how to use this to their advantage. LSU does not.
Regardless, here's a legitimate question:
Will LSU do anything & everything necessary to hire one of if not the Top Football Coach in the Nation to come to LSU to Coach? Will the LSU boosters step up with the money & go after an NFL level Coach?
OR
Will Mighty Joe Alleva settle for an "Up & Comer" coach from a small conference, that doesn't play anything close to SEC level Football & just hope yet again? Will these boosters who want to be #1 but don't want to pay for it, sit back & do nothing....again?

You mean like that "elite" program did with Urban Meyer? Do elite programs hire Ron Zook? Do elite programs have losing records to little ole LSU before Spurrier arrived?
This thread is mind-numbingly idiotic. I love how the OP's definition of "elite" is "you know it when you see it."
He did a good job of uniting Negatigers and Positigers though.

If I said that I think Bama is way up on the elite ladder of probation, cheating, forfeiture and games vacated..would I be a genius or just a hater?

Elite programs
School, win%, wins
Michigan 0.73663 877
Notre Dame 0.73396 837
Texas 0.72032 845
Ohio State 0.71653 819
Oklahoma 0.71534 799
Alabama 0.70678 792
Southern Cal 0.70599 775
Nebraska 0.70116 827
Tennessee 0.69247 783
Penn State 0.69103 811
Florida State 0.66261 454
Georgia 0.64566 731
Louisiana State 0.64086 709
Miami-Florida 0.63488 553
Florida 0.63109 654
Every school in the top 10 has multiple NC.
Alabama is the only elite team in the SEC. LSU is hanging outside the top ten so I would not consider the elite...but very very good. If you were to call Florida elite, also consider another 3x National Champion team sitting at #36 in win %:
Army 0.58094 642
Army was elite in their day, just as Florida is the past two decades, but throughout history, Florida is not elite and obviously Army is struggling the past 30 years.

Okay geniuses...what years prior to 2003 and after 1958 would you consider elite?
