Realistiger realistic assesment

I consider myself a "realistiger" and I think this board has been so polarized over the season so far.
I will admit that I stopped defending Miles after OM last year. I also admit that I decided last year that this year would define Miles' tenure here at LSU b/c he:
1) has no excuse for keeping Crowton
2) cannot use RP excuse
3) 100% his players
I said I lost faith in him and his coaching ability unless he won another SEC title.
We talk about the last two years as being so terrible, but last year the facts show that we were not terrible. More than likely we will have 9 wins this year and 10 if we win one of the ALA, ARK, or AUB games. if that happens, then 2008 is the outlier.
The detractors will all say UF isn't good this year, but we really don't know that for sure yet. No one can convince me that it is easy to win in the swamp, and SC is going to have to do that to win the east. Otherwise, this "bad" UF team will be in Atlanta.
I am just like every tiger fan who wants to play lights out and dominate teams, but that just isn't going to happen. So instead of getting worked up over the way these games are playing out, I am just going to enjoy what I can and then decide how I feel about Miles at the end of the year.
Although it's unlikely, what if we keep winning lucky and ugly all the way to Atlanta and I am pissed after each game about how it's going to cost us the next game? It's called wasted energy and ultimately I lose out on enjoying the ride.
Alabama used to win ugly all the time in the 80's, so why can't we? In the end it really is all about W and L's even though I would prefer to see us play to maximum potential.
I now think that if Les Miles wins the west this year, even if we lose in Atlanta, he will have proven himself as one of the top coaches in the country. No one should be able to refute that, even if we do win lucky.

I have also been all over the board with Crowton, from defending him to calling for his head. The more I watch him with Lee, the more I think he has had to scale back with Jefferson. We see with Florida this year how much the right QB can make a difference. I'm still not all the way back to defending Crowton, but if we win big this year and next year with Lee, we may just say that Crowton coached a good season last year just to win the games we did win with Jefferson.

If we win the West, I don't see us losing in Atlanta.

I don't see us losing in Atlanta either, but I am illustrating the point that Miles will have proven to me he is top tier by winning the West. The West is unarguably the BEST and toughest division in the Nation.
I do feel that Oregon, OU, Boise, and Neb have the ability to beat the SEC champ to win it all.

We really aren't doing much different in terms of play calling. Over half of Lee's passing yards came on the two slant routes to Toliver. We've been running those all year. Great passes by Lee, but nothing extravagant or new in terms of play calling.

It's extravagant and new when you can actually hit the receiver in stride with a well-placed pass. That's what was missing the first 4 games.

Dear Lord, please learn how to read.
I'm talking about play calling. Lee threw two nice slant passes, but the plays called were anything that we haven't seen all year.

Please learn how to interpret. It IS new when it's done correctly. Yes, I agree, the plays themselves aren't new. The results are new based on competency.

Yeeeaaaaahhhh, that is a me problem that also seems to be prominent among a lot on this board.
Also we are going to curb stomp your team on Saturday. And by curb stomp I mean win by 10-14 pts. Haha

I'm happy to see the NegaTigers(you can call yourself a realistiger but you are what you are-Negative) starting to come to grips with who Les Miles is. I figured it out when we won our NC with him and have been completely behind him since. Why? Because you have to understand his coaching style. He's old school grind it out football with Balls of Steel never being afraid to go for the win. Look at all the 4 down conversions he's made against Florida. His players love him because he sincerely supporting all of them. I just hope many more of you can get this and understand we have a great coach at LSU.
And you know Cajuns are a little hard to understand to the rest of the country. Les is a perfect fit at LSU!

No, I'm not a negatiger.
I was behind miles and defended him for years to my negatiger friends. What he did at OM combined with that year showed signs of inability. He still shows some of those signs:
Tennesee game
Letting Jefferson receive the majority of the snaps
We are still in a potentially repeated terrible quarterback situation in 2012
If he loses all three of the ALA, AUB and ARK then he is in fact not top tier. Time will tell. This is not being negative, these are facts.

whatever dude...JJ couldnt run 1/5th of the plays JL can run...that is the reason why the offense was so terrible with JJ...he couldnt run anything...the play book has always been opened up for lee cause he can execute it...Just like Flynn could in 07....
Now I will say this play calling is still, (sometimes, not often) menacing when Jlee is in the game. there have been moments where I have said "what kind of a play call was that"...when Jlee was in the game...most times a running play...
I think with Jlee we should run more power I play action because when they see the I they load up....lee could torch someone downfield...JJ cant...
But I do like shotgun 3 wide most of the time with lee....just more play action in the run formations...no more zone read with Jlee...gotta be shep...or JJ on the goaline.

Agree with what you have said. I am so sick of all the bullshite with LSU being lucky, but no one else being lucky.
Lets look at a few of the BSC champions
Ohio State 2002-how many close games did they have? Many.
LSU 2003-if not for a few late games going our way, i.e. Hawaii, we don't play in the NC, USC does.
Florida 2006-UF blocked not one, but two Ryan Succop fg's to beat USCe at the swamp and then win the SEC and go to Glendale and dominate.
Tennessee 1998-Arkansas had a late fumble and Tennesee went on to win. All Arky had to do was the victory formation.
You would think the way the media reacts that LSU was the luckiest teams to win the BCS. It wasn't our fault that both years the NC game was at the dome.

Not to mention all the BS that were the refs concerning bama an UF last year. Ark was screwed at UF. Bama blocked that field goal by UT and fat Cody ripped off helmet with no call.
Lots of teams get lucky, incuding us.

You just like to post negative stuff. You accentuate negative things, but seem totally unaware of the positives. You repeat the same old negative things that have been hammered to death in this forum.
You profess to having defended Les Miles yet you accuse him of "inability".

Tennesee game
Which you don't seem to realize that LSU won and it was Tennessee that screwed the pooch at the end.

Letting Jefferson receive the majority of the snaps
For reasons that seem pretty clear to the professional coaching staff, but not to the fans. Jeffeerson has won a few games has he not?You want a fan vote on starting jobs?

Panic now beat the rush, right?

Brilliant assessment, absolutely brilliant. For this you went to college?
[quote] This is not being negative, these are facts.
And the positives are?
You jokers that start threads with I'm not a negative tiger, but..................are absolute jokes. You are a negative tiger. Admit it. Own up to it. Be a man.
Oh and while you are at it, try to find something fresh, ok?

I will never say that.
We see what an infusion of a different QB has done to this year's team. There is no reason to believe that Lee couldn't have done the same last year. Whoever refused to let Lee get reps for the 112th ranked offense, does not deserve to be as highly paid, as LSU pays their coaches.
