So Ridley is going to be the starter. Who else do we have to put in the backfield to give him a break? Shepard and Holliday. That's it right?

i read a couple weeks ago when scott went down that miles had even said they might put allen at tailback if they had a depth issue. no way redshirts get burned for one inconsequential game

I do not thinks it matters because We do not run the ball enough anyway. The way that Crowton abandons the run game it doesn't matter who lines up there. I hope that we can give Ridley about 10-15 touches and Holliday and Sheppard about 10 touches between them and quit relying on JJ to win the game through the air because its not working. The run game was not working at the first of season, but it has been available the past few games until Crowton decides to throw. Take out the sack yardage and KW was doing a great job running the ball but after the 2nd quarter Crowton called one pass play after another....

If he burns Ford red shirt I might rush the field. I am pretty sure he wouldn't do something so stupid.

Michael Ford.
No sense in burning his redshirt now. This game is meaningless, and Ford is better served sitting out this year.

What about John Williams? Didn't he play QB in our practicing for GT last year? Meaning he is familiar with running assignments from the backfield.

Totally agree. They need not bother put anyone in the backfield at all. Guy will get one play and then be forgotten.
But I can't imagine trying to save a Redshirt year for a player if you really thought that the player could contribute significantly.

You are assuming that Miles & Company have the capacity for rational thought. After Miles' coaching debacles that we have all witnessed I wouldn't put it past him to make such a boneheaded decision as burning a kid's redshirt at this point in the season. His actions are beyond rational explanation.

I had the same thought, but Miles wouldn't even trust Williams, and he is a Senior. I doubt he puts in Ford.
