I don't know the stats off the top of my head but I fully suspect that you score more often when you sac bunt the runner to 2nd instead of try to steal.
You are correct without data. A sac bunt means the guy moves up. A steal is just a chance at moving up. The percentage of successful steals is around 45% while successful sac bunts is closer to 99%

Give maineris Maestri teams, then we can talk about resume

Yeahhhhh... But you also give up am out?? What's your point a base for an out? What about when maineri sac bunts with a runner on first with one out? What are your numbers then?

These players are not that good. Bergman is the best position player. You can be fast but if you can't base run and read ball out the pitchers hand you're out 10-10 times
We are best in the SEC in strikeouts. 3rd in number of times caught stealing. 2nd in RBI and 2nd in runs scored.

Andrew Stevenson leads the SEC in batting average.
Sean McMullen has more doubles than 90% of the country
Connor Hale only strikes out 1 out of every 17 ABs
Jake Fraley is a TRUE FRESHMEN and is batting .340 with 20 RBIs, which is good for 5th on the team. And he has only started 14 games. 14 GAMES

All because of the sac bunt.. You are unbelievable

ANSWER THE frickING QUESTIONS MY MAN...
Rank the SEC coaches. Stop telling me why he isn't number one and start telling me who should be.
I am pretty sure I never said CPM was the single greatest man since Adam and Eve. I simply said he is the best coach in the SEC right now.
So rank them and quit jerking yourself off.

I hate sac bunting but many coaches do this and don't steal. You are trying to hard to make CPM look like a crappy coach.
I hate small ball but CPM isn't a bad coach for using it.

We are talking about real life facts dude. Not hypotheticals. Mainieri would probably just recruit better players so he wouldnt be stuck with crap.
Also, you keep saying the players we have just arent good. Well if we are winning so much, then who gets the credit? Must be some damn good coaching and game managing

These are nice useless meaningless stats. If you're going to steal a base you need instincts before speed, ESP if your not fast.. There are a few players who have the instincts

I don't want to make him look like a crappy coach I want to correct the logic that has people thinking he is a great coach

No, you want to troll. Correcting logic and not providing a better solution is as useful as cleaning the floor after a pipe bursts but not fixing the fricking pipe. You just keep cleaning the floor.
RANK THEM DUDE

If I made a list maineri would be top 5. I don't know enough about all the other coaches to rank them. I don't think anyone does. That's why this list is bogus.

People like this?
quote:
Skip Bertman, LSU Hall of Fame Coach and former Director of Athletics
“Paul Mainieri is one of the finest college baseball coaches in the country. This award, the ABCA Hall of Fame is just perfect for Paul. He has been an ABCA member for over 30 years and, of course, has produced and excelled on the field at four different universities. At all times his teams have had wonderful attitudes, and Paul has always taught his players more than just baseball. It is a pleasure for me to watch Paul work his craft at LSU.”
quote:
Ron Maestri, Hall of Fame Coach at the University of New Orleans and Mainieri’s college coach
“Paul Mainieri is a true Hall of Famer. His players graduate. His players win. Both Coach Mainieri and his players are involved in the community. Coach is a true gentleman who represents LSU in a very positive manner.”
quote:
Jim Hendry, former Chicago Cubs general manager and Creighton head coach; coached with Mainieri at Columbus High School in Miami in the 1980s
“I’ve known Paul throughout his entire career, and he is the epitome of what a college coach should be. His players get better and maximize their talents on the field under his tutelage, but more importantly, the instruction and inspiration he gives them encourages them to become better young men. He makes a tremendous impact upon his players in all facets of their lives, and that’s what makes him special. Any father would be proud to say that his son played for Paul Mainieri.”
quote:
Randy Bush, Chicago Cubs assistant general manager and Mainieri’s former teammate at UNO
“I’ve known Paul and his family for most of my life. Paul was destined to be a baseball coach early on, as he learned from the best -- his Hall of Fame father, Demie. Over his 31-year coaching career, Paul has had the opportunity to impact hundreds of fortunate young men, who have learned firsthand about such values as teamwork, commitment, hard work and loyalty. He taught the very same lessons that he learned from his Dad and simply continued to pass them on to others. Paul Mainieri as a head coach embodies all that one could hope to instill in his players -- to be successful on the field and, even more importantly, to succeed at the game of life off the field.”
quote:
Ray Tanner, athletic director at South Carolina and two-time national championship baseball coach
“Congratulations to Coach Mainieri for his induction into the ABCA Hall of Fame. He’s a great coach, he’s a motivator, and he’s a dynamic teacher. It’s been a tremendous experience getting to know him and competing against him over the years. We developed a great relationship built on respect, and I know he has similar relationships with coaches all over the country. Coach Mainieri is a class act and very deserving of this honor.”
