How many starters offensively and defensively will Bastrop have returning this season in football? Is the talent level anywhere close to what it has been the previous couple of years?

Sorry to hijack the thread, just haven't heard anything and was curious.

Even if it is a change-up, the ball may hit the catcher's mit by the time the bat gets to the plate.

maybe he has amazing bat speed. bottom of the bat, head, and bellybutton all pointed to the ball. I'm saying hard hit single to right!

I was thinking the same thing.

He is back in the box. His head is down and it looks like a the beginnings of a good level cut.

Yeah PM did not even know where Monroe was much less Bastrop. Talent is equal just not scouted much. Have had 4 good years to evaluate and #'s of kids much greater down south, but D-1 talent is very close. Good players get picked up quick by LSU,ULL, Tulane. Its funny that Taylor Dugas leads SEC as a Freshman, but LSU passed on him. Neville and WM power houses in Baseball have not had a LSU player in forever. It all comes down to what the needs are of the team.

I disagree, I have lived in both north and south LA. I will say South is better but you can not say that "not much good" baseball is played up here. St. Frederick, Sterlington, OCS, Neville, WM, Captain Shreve, Loyola, Evangel and Calvary are all great programs. The schools with good baseball programs. Thats just why you say that probably. The 4A and 5A are dominated by South LA.

LSU didn't have enough room for one Neville player I know but PM asked him to stay at LSU and join the team on scholarship next year.
